Franklin Sensors ProSensor 710+ 13-Sensor Stud Finder Wall Scanner, Blue

Don't be fooled by those little $12 -$20 "stud finders" with the fancy displays and bells and whistles. They don't work. But this unit isn't like that. This is a more expensive, PROFESSIONAL QUALITY stud finder that works! Instead of a fancy display, this unit just has a row of LEDs that light up when they pass over a wall stud. Simple, effective, and from what I've seen, always correct. It's become one of my most-valued tools. No lie.

I recently bought a new TV to replace my 55" flat screen which got fried do to to many lightning storms in the area. Lightning didn't kill my TV, the power going off and on repeatedly too many times in a short time did it. So, my new TV is being wall mounted with a new power surge protector. This Franklin Sensors stud detector replaces the old El cheapo stud detected that was unreliable. I need to hang a considerable weight on two wall studs and the screws need to be dead center. Using this sensor, I'm assured of that. I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. Setup was fast and easy. Simply drop in two AA batteries and I'm in business. No pre-op setup needed. Just press against any wall, press the button and slide the unit and the lights begin showing you where the studs are. They show you the entire stud so you can mark both edges and find it's center. It also shows studs located close together, too. Overall, I am highly pleased with this tool and in this inflationary world, feel I got my money's worth. Now, it does not detect wiring, pipes or other structures. So, if you're looking for something that does all that, look elsewhere. But this unit excels in finding studs.

This thing is fantastic. It’s so easy to use and works perfectly. The sensor is precise and accurate. It seems to be durable but I wouldn’t throw it around on concrete. The value for the money is unbelievable. I was using the cheaper ones that are less than $20 and was never impressed. Knocking on the wall with my hand gave me a better idea than trying to use one of those things. This one fits in my bag and works perfectly every time. I’ve used it several times so far and the battery life seems to be good. If you can afford it, spend the extra money and get this stud finder.

After years of using the standard 3 dot infrared type of Stud finders, I was never convinced of the accuracy. It would show false readings almost as often as true hits. I was reluctant to try this product however its 15 pluse sensitive sensors compelled me to try it. Well the results are in a this stud finder is a Stud. It has never failed to find the studs or in some cases two studs side by side. The built in Level workrs great and the ruler built in make marking and drilling easy. Rearly do I find a reasonable priced item to work so well. This is a must have for any DIY person who wants to get the job done right. This Franklin Sensor is the exception. Wish I bought it sooner.

Product arrived on time and well packaged. I had a specific use for this device...To install bathtub grab / assist bars. I needed to be able to find the studs behind a fiberglass / composite shower surround and whatever was behind it. I knew cement board had NOT been used. Beyond that it was all a guess. Other single LED stud finders seemed to work, but they had one major drawback...ONE LED. That made it difficult to accurately pinpoint the location of the studs. The Franklin, with 13 sensors, provided a MUCH MORE accurate rough location of the studs. No, it was NOT perfect, but it did work. As it was slid across the surround material three LEDs would light up showing the the approximate location of the stud. I took about ten measurements and marked each with a carpenter's pencil. I then looked them over and used a vertical laser level to show me the most likely location of the stud based upon what the Franklin had showed me. I used a VERY small 1/8 drill bit to test because given the color and design of the surround, if I missed the stud that hole would barely be visible and might be covered by the assist bar bezel. Yes, I missed the stud on the first try. But after that I hit the stud all six times, which was all that the grab bar would allow. So, six out of seven times I was able to hit the stud using this device. That's DARN GOOD in my book. And the bezel covered 95% of the missed drilling point so that is not noticeable unless you go looking for it. THANK YOU FRANKLIN SENSORS!

I have gone through countless brands/types of stud finders. From low end to high end and none of them have ever been that accurate or consistent. Honestly, the cheaper ones have been the best, but still never that good. Which didn't make any sense to me, because it's such a simple tool... We can remote ATV on Mars while taking selfies, but making a tool that can consistently find a piece of wood behind a half inch of drywall seems to have us confused and bewildered. That is until now! It is the future and Mr. Franklin is proving it with his ProSensor 710+! I was skeptical at first, because it looks like my little nephews handheld metal detecter that came with his Walmart Toy Spy Kit he got seven Christmases ago. But man was I wrong. This is unreal and unbelievably accurate and easy to use. You don't have to start sliding it first or reset and start over or any of those things you feel you shouldn't ever have to do anyways, because we landed on the moon almost 50 years ago! It works as if someone said, "Hey, let's make a stud finder that just lights up when there is a stud behind it and you always know where the middle of the stud is due to the three or more LED's lighting up and you don't have to reset it or... well, anything, It. Just. Works. Thank you Franklin and God bless you.

Works great, and very accurate. I bought mine in order to find an on-demand tankless water heater that was installed behind sheetrock by a moron builder many years ago. Lit up like a Christmas tree when I moved the sensor over the location.

This stud finder is the best one I have ever owned. It's the most accurate that's for sure. Very glad I purchased it

Best Stud finder I have ever used, very accurate in finding the full stud and where the middle is. Highly recommend it. More expensive than your average Stud finder but they don’t work and this one does.

Meilleur achat à faire à un jeune qui part en appartement! Je me le suis acheté pour ma maison et mon seul regret c’est de ne pas l’avoir eu avant! Dispendieu beaucoup par rapport à certains plus cheap mais la règle le niveau et surtout la possibilité de voir la largeur du « stud » en arrière sont des points qui lui font mériter son prix. Je vais certainement en acheter pour la famille à noël. Positif : -fonctionne avec des batteries à piles (à prévoir) -bonne prise en main (agréable et pas étrange) -plastique de qualité -léger pour être maniable mais juste assez lourd pour ne pas faire cheap (on entends pas de cliquetis de morceaux lousse en dedans comme les cheap peuvent le faire) -fiable! Si la lumière s’allume, tu peux planter ta vis ici! -en bleu il est moins cher et le même modèle ;) Négatif: -fonctionne avec des batteries donc n’est pas rechargeable seul -dispendieu à l’achat
