We've had outdoor solar light globes and cubes similar to this solar cube for many years in our landscaping and we love them. I was excited to order this to use at our lake cabin. The cube is made very well. The plastic is thick and very durable. It's the type of plastic that won't get brittle in the sun. To turn the cube on, just press the ON/OFF button on the bottom and it comes on right out of the box. There is also a button on the bottom that you can use to change the color and light mode - very easy. The included remote also works to control these functions, and the remote works well. The remote does come with a battery already installed. Because this cube is waterproof, you can leave it outside in your landscaping, on a deck or patio, or even by the pool. The cube recharges in the sunshine by day, and automatically turns on at dark. The cube light stays on all night. I actually like the look of this cube during the day when it's not lit up - the white plastic has a matte finish, so it doesn't look 'cheap'. It actually looks nice like that sitting outside among my plants. The cube comes with a stake that you can use in your landscaping to prevent the cube from blowing away in a strong wind. This is optional - you can use the cube without the stake if you want. I am very impressed with this cube and really love the look of it - both during the day and at night. This is a high-quality light, and I highly recommend it! This is the second globe that I've owned. The first one lasted about 4 years and was in the garden all season. I replaced the lthium battery once, but the unit just gave out. I think $40 for 4 years of enjoyment is a total value. The globe has multiple modes. You can leave the lumination as white or choose multiple colors and program it to transition from one color to another. Totally mesmerizing!👍

I think the only 'negative' that I have for this light, is that it doesn't get terribly bright. That said, it seems like more of a accent light to me, and I really like it for that. The plastic shell does a great job of diffusing the light (though you get some bright spots, as shown in the white picture), and works with the small solar panel as well to charge - I wasn't sure enough light would penetrate to charge the battery. Everything looks like quality components - the battery especially appears to be a lithium iron phosphate chemistry (going by the voltage), which should last for a long time. Slightly pricy at $45 (price when I reviewed), but if you could find it on a sale I would highly recommend.

Having trouble with one of the two that I got. One works fine, the other you have to shake it to get it to come on. It says on for a little bit then goes off. Remote does not make it work. Seems like I got a dud
