Great for travel or urban sketching, Mike-drop value
I bought the set of Artiro watercolor brush markers because I was really impressed with the Faber Castell aqua Faber watercolor brushes but I needed more colors but didnโt want to spend much. The aquafaber Tuscany set includes beautiful earth colors, but it didnโt have a single yellow. I also needed some beautiful bright floral colors like the tangerine and the raspberry as well as a turquoise cerulean blue m. Even ChatGPT recommended this set to round out my palette so not only can I paint Tuscany but I can paint Greece and France and anywhere really including urban scenes, and Iโm very pleased with the combination as you can see from my swatch of both of the colors I can create almost anything now. And I saved so much money as 12 individual Goldfabers costs far more than this set of 12. No sense overspending on monarchival materials. I also like how the Artisto markers Blend just like the golfers. you can blend them tip to tip or you can put them on a watercolor palette for example, the tombow marker palette to blend colors, but best of all you can touch a watercolor marker to your water brush to you can make a wash, which is a really neat feature for skies. Iโve experimented with them a number of ways. One thing I would recommend is that you wet your paper first before touching the marker to it, unless youโre drawing like an outline, and then you wanna go over with water next to soften it up or touch it to your water rush to add a wash. And youโll still retain the original line if you put it on dry watercolor paper first, which might be exactly what you want if you put it down dry and ask it to blend out later itโs not gonna do it not even on the snowman and burn Zeta sketchbook so you need to be aware that you need to use them for the way that they work, which is use them dry for outlines and you can also brush into the wet areas to have things fade out just like you would with regular watercolor. Iโm really pleased with these cuties. Iโve set them all up to work together in zannaki big sketch bag, in the turquoise colored one with one marker leaf, and you can see my review on that on how they all fit together in there in the leaf. Iโve included this swatch in that review as well as below. Iโll be using this in an A5 hahnemuhle watercolor sketchbook. Some French reviewer said that they tips are coarse with no details. You can see from the strokes I got that that is not true. Even the water brush is a nice quality brush. And the price is stunning, considering itโs the price of only three aqua Faber watercolor markers. A note about the fineliner, itโs a winner. Wait ten minutes before inking or use it dry. If you write in wet spot it may seem like itโs ruined. Chat gtp told me how to fix that, soak in water for 10 seconds, recap and tap tip down in a counter a few times and it should start working again. A neat feature of these markers is that they have a real brush tip not a finer tip like the aquafaber. This allows you to get very textured strokes if you use the brush sideways good for rustic barns and the like, you need watercolor paper cold press for this effect. Donโt use card stock like another reviewer did. That is not the right paper for watercolor markers. Even the swatch paper that comes with it has a hot press texture. The color Cobalt is actually a beautiful Ultamarine violet. The color amethyst is a red violet. The Emerald is a deep forest green like viridian but with a touch of brown which I love. The onyx makes nice gray washes. If you want to make gray mixers donโt do those tip to tip to keep your markers clear, mix those in a marker palette. I love the Scarlett which is a transparent red oxide very nice for leaf veins wet on wet.

The markers are nice, though some of them lost color fast..

Bright colors
Pens work really well w a good point to them. Colors are very bright. Great for when you don't have access to water for your watercolor painting.

Good watercolor markers
I'm really enjoying the markers. I'm a just for fun kind of artist, it's sort of bonding time with my kids. The markers do their job, I enjoy using them. They blend pretty nicely. Especially wet on wet.

Meh. Not my favorite
Middle of the road. There are better brands but this one is a good starting place with lots of colors. They donโt blend well though which is frustrating.

Delightful markers!
These markers are delightful. They also have a water brush for blending or wet on wet, and a fine liner pen.

Easy for a Beginner
If you're a beginner with watercolors, and just wanted to give it a try, this is for you. The pens are a marker and brush combo. The set comes with a brush that you add water. No mess. Just have fun!
