White literally shocked with the product quality. This biochar - this company, had the right idea using olive to make the biochar vs the usual cheap wood (lawn garbage). I was worried about charging the biochar. It would be my first time charging it (basically like buffering coco coir but not with just cal-mag) and was scared to soak too much to long worried it would break down the already tender crumbly pieces. First, opening the bag, it's small but I see why now. For the price I was at first a little upset at the amount. But luckily it's only 7.5% of my potting mix so I can do a few repot's with it, I dumped this out into a stainless steel bowl and their was not even one spec of dust in the bowl with it!! Every pieces was perfectly sized! I was able to crush a piece in my fingers but it was hard and when it crumbled not even that got dusty just broken into a few smaller pieces. Really small pieces but still not dust and wasn't easy. The fact this holds so well their is not any dust in the bag or when you crush it in your fingers because it just breaks apart instead of crumbling into messy dust, it says everything about the work and their standards for this good quality product. A lot has to do with using olive as the charcoal medium. I filled some water with some of my SUPERTHRIVE/DYNAGROW GROW 7-9-5 fertilizer and also some bloom city 7 species seaweed and kelp plant food and let the biochar soak in it for 3 hours, i strained through a fine mesh screen and placed on some cardboard to dry, afterward I expected some of the char would have broken down but still perfect! This is a dream for consistent mixing into potting medium, any potting medium. Makes it easier if you lightly moisten all the ingredients before mixing in. But with this that's not so much a concern

Very fine seemed of good quality! Never used charcoal before for plants so not sure what to expect. Guess we will see!

Happy with the overall product, but if planning on using it for a larger planted area, or for the use of building terrariums. I suggest purchasing the larger size.
