Impressive
These are the very first clipless mountain bike shoes I've ever got. Still waiting for the pedals and cleats to come, but would like to review the shoes. They came earlier than expected and, are just fantastic. I did get them in my regular shoe size and they are too big for my feet. I would recommend getting 1/2 or a full size smaller. I am however a young rider and I will grow into them. They are built with expected Shimano quality, and the one strap is so easy and fast to use. They feel really comfortable and I love the big rubber parts on the bottom to protect the cleats while walking, and it should also make them work better on flats. Anyways, great pair of shoes. Definitely recommend.

Great product
First time user with clipped in shoes. Wow makes a big difference in power and control. Really like using the new shoes. Fit was perfect, i did order a 1/2 size bigger. Only because my feet are really wide. Will take some time getting used to being clipped in.

Good for the price but strap doesnโt tighten enough
I bought these shoes 2 years ago to use with my indoor bike. The shoes have been remarkably durable and comfortable. I like that I can walk around when wearing them and not worry about scratching the floor. The fit is true to size. My only complaint is that the strap doesnโt tighten enough. As the shoes have stretched out with use, the strap doesnโt tighten quite enough, so they feel a bit loose. I recommend this shoe if you are looking for a good pair of decently priced shoes. Iโm not sure how well they would hold up with outdoor cycling, but I have owned Shimano cycling shoes when I used to ride outside and they were great.

Wide Foot Okay.
I have wide feet. At first, the shoes did not look wide enough, but they do. They fit well and look great.

Too narrow for my feet
Decent shoe at a good price, but it doesn't work for my feet. I don't have wide feet, but these shoes are too narrow for me. If you have wide feet, I would look elsewhere. I don't race so I don't need a snug fit for maximum performance. The closure system is OK, but it's not my favorite. My old shoes had 2 velcro straps and I was good with that. Also, I ordered a size 10.5, but they delivered a size 10. I don't know if that was an error or they only come in full sizes. In any case, I'm going to try other shoes.

Feel-good, quality good, price good, size good for switch from SPD to flat-pedals after urban riding
I switched form SPDs to flat pedals after years of commuting on SPDs. I got these after trying a pair of 5/10s for flat pedals. These Shimanos feel lots better than the 5/10s and are so good for walking I usually do post-ride cooldown walk in them. They go on easily and the menโs 8.5 - 9 size fit my EU size 42.5 -43 feet just right. The Velcro strap closure works well, though Iโm used to ratcheted straps. The build quality is as good as higher-priced shoes Iโve used. The pair I received din not include a set of SPD cleats โ no problem I;m off SPDs anyhow. The relatively hard sole is a little slick in wet weather; and the SPD holes are NOT sealed for wet riding. Great feeling shoes. I like their plan (rather than flashy) look. Often keep them on after ridesโฆ.

Low quality with a name brand
The velcro is terrible and does not hold them on well at all, they are very narrow and the sewing starts to fall apart in the first few months of regular use. I thought that because they were name brand they would be good I was harshly disappointed. May as well buy some cheap knockoffs they well most likley have the same or better quality, for less money.

Value + function > Style
The MX-1 is a low cost, no frills shoe. Looks: Not so much. These shoes look like a cross between bedroom slippers and gardening clogs. Style is not the strong suit. That said, they're great for beginners, casual cyclists on a budget, and for those with wider feet. Sizing: I wear a 12.5 US, and typically al 46 or 47 in European shoes. When I measured my feet with a Sidi sizing tool at the local bike shop, my toes landed between the 46 and 47 mark, my instep between 45 and 46 as shown. Width is between E and EE, slightly wider than "normal". Selecting a 12.5 men's in the MX-1 brought a shoe marked as 48 European. The is pretty close to perfect for my feet. Toes have just a tiny bit of space, heel is not loose, and my instep is snug but not pinched. I've only done about 50Km in them so far, and they've been comfortable. The only exception is that I have thick, tall toes and my big toenails are pushed down a bit. I don't think the plastic front will stretch much, so this may be a problem. Potential drawbacks: Serious cyclists might not like all the elastic on top, and probably will be disappointed by the lack of "tuneability" in the single Y strap. Those who ride in weather will get wet socks from the elastic cloth and perforations. Summary: I bought these as a backup to my old trusted Sidis, and for the money I think they're just fine.
