Loving This Set on My Current Camping Trip!
I picked up The Pathfinder School Canteen Cooking Set just in time for my current camping trip, and wow, it’s been a total game-changer! I’m out in the woods right now, and this kit has already proven itself worth every penny. The stainless steel build is rock-solid—I’ve been using it over an open fire for the past two nights, and it’s holding up like a champ. No warping, no nonsense, just pure durability. The wide-mouth canteen is a lifesaver out here. I’ve been filling it from a little creek nearby, and it boils water so fast for my morning coffee. The nesting cup and stove slide together perfectly, which keeps everything compact in my pack. Last night, I cooked up some chili in the cup for my girlfriend and I heated up some bone broth from my Canteen for myself, and those batwing handles made it a breeze to handle over the flames. The whole set fits snugly into the pouch, so it’s not rattling around while I hike. I can tell this was designed by folks who really know the outdoors—every piece feels practical and tough. I’m only a few days into this trip, but it’s already clear this gear is built to last. It’s a bit of a splurge, sure, but for something this reliable, I’d say it’s a steal. If you’re into camping or bushcraft, grab this set—you won’t regret it.

Very high quality GI style canteen
Great, durable, solid traditional GI style canteen and cup. They all fold together very well and sit in a pack nicely. The material construction is very high quality and the cup works very well for cooking stews and soups. The stove makes using esbitt tablets very easy. 10/10

Wide Mouth
The wide mouth canteen is excellent for chunky soups or ice cubes. The nesting cup did have some sharp edges on the folding handle latch that need to be addressed to avoid injury. The stove works better if it can be elevated to allow more heat underneath. Setting it on some stones within the fire pit helped immensely. All items stacked in the marginally durable, thin material, non-Molle pouch. Hook and loop pockets are just OK. K-Bar utensil is held securely in place with a hook and loop strap. I wouldn't recommend putting small items in the pockets as little things could easily fall out. I was able to remedy the lack of any means to secure (molle) the kit to a battle belt or pack by installing some aftermarket clips using a soldering iron to make some holes for the fastening hardware. The pouch as shipped can only be attached to a conventional belt unless lashed in some unconventional arrangement. Overall a good kit, only four stars because of lack of molle straps. A couple of snaps at the bottom of the belt loops/webbing would not have been much to add.

Built like a tank
This is a very good kit. Actually, I'm surprised regarding some the negative comments. First, mine DOES NOT leak. I'm not sure how it could. The seam is 100% perfect all around and polished as to make the welded area invisible, save for the tell-tale flange. Second, the mollie strapping WORKS. I have it on my ruck and it stays put. No rotation at all. Third, the cup handle has a metal tab that you need to slide into place to prevent the cup handle from folding under when you are using it. It's somewhat easy to miss, but once you see it, you'll know what it's for. :) Finally, the pouch. Ok, it's not canvas maybe the old days, but it appears to be solid. Time will tell, but I'm not worried. Now, due to the nature of the design, you'll need to be careful when/if placing the cup on an MSR pocket rocket or similar canister stove. It will fit, but you won't have much margin of error. If you use the included stove stand instead of a canister stove, you are faced with (1) building a traditional fire (if circumstances allow), (2) using an Esbit tablet, or (3) a small alcohol stove like a Trangia. In fact, the Trangia is a PERFECT addition to this kit. The included stove stand makes a stand for the Trangia - though you will need to carry alcohol. Overall, very pleased. A bit pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for.

The best
By far this has to be the best cooking canteen set you can get. Yes it’s metal so it will weigh slightly more, but the endurance and longevity is what makes this so good. Can’t cook with a plastic canteen for obvious reasons. Also can’t use hot fluids in a plastic canteen unless it’s Nalgene, which I use as my backup canteen. The batwing canteen cup handles are good but prefer the L shaped canteen cup for better stability in a fire. I purchased separately directly from pathfinder the L shaped cup and used the batwing for the Nalgene backup. The lid is nice too, once you see steam coming out from the holes you know the water is boiling. And it fits in a military issue canteen carrier

Awesome!
This is probably the best canteen rig I've had during my 70 years on this planet. I've had several others. The canteen lid is not attached with a chain so the canteen can be heated on a campfire without melting the cap or detaching a chain. The mouth is very wide and more convenient to fill, empty, or drink from. It's all stainless steel so no leeching into your food or coffee like with aluminum. The canteen, nesting cup, and included stove all nest together perfectly. The cup lid fits perfectly in the bottom of the carry case. The stove works well with a small wood fire or Trangia alcohol stove but I have not tried other heating options yet. The carry case is adequate but cheap. I can forgive that. Overall, everything is of very good quality and I expect it will eventually outlast me.

It had a pretty much invisible leak right below where the little ridge/lip thing is halfway up the canteen itself. The photos show that it comes with the newer handles, but it actually comes with the older one that folds under it. I wouldn't mind so much if the thing didn't come with a puncture. Still, it would be better to actually take the time to make sure your photos match up with the product you're charging so much money for.
