Easy to read and user friendly clock with really no annoying features
The Peakeep and the Pluteck clocks look like they could be identical, so I bought one of each to find out. They are identical in some ways but not completely. I like this Peakeep clock a little better. The knobs and switches on the Peakeep are a lot more ergonomic than the ones on the Pluteck. That's kind of important on an alarm clock, because you will probably be handling it every day. That is the main difference I can see between the 2 clocks. Both clocks have the same limitation on battery voltage, but the Peakeep actually tells you about it on the instruction sheet that comes with the clock, and the Pluteck says nothing about it. Basically, rechargeable batteries like NiMh are not recommended because their voltage is a little lower than the regular alkaline type batteries. If you put in a new alkaline AA or even a used one that measures more than 1.42 volts, everything works. Once the voltage falls below about 1.4 volts, the snooze and the light will quit working, but the clock still runs and the alarm will still go off. So if the light or the snooze feature on your clock all of a sudden quits working but the clock still runs, don't worry, all you need is a new battery! I like this clock. It has a clear, easy to read face and hands, and every function about it is totally obvious. It is nearly silent, I can't hear it at all from 1 foot away. I am using it to replace a 30 year old Seiko/Lorus clock that has been the most amazing thing all these years and has taken many falls to the floor with no damage. This $9 Peakeep is not in the same class as far as build quality. But for the price I think it deserves 5 stars. Update Feb 2019: 6 months ago I put a freshly charged Panasonic eneloop battery (NiMh) in this clock just to see how long it would run on one charge. It is still running. The light and snooze still work. This is great. I won't be burning up alkaline batteries in these clocks anymore. I took the eneloop out just to measure the voltage, then put the same eneloop back in without charging it. I want to see how much longer it goes. The voltage I measured at 1.276 volts. An alkaline will quit operating the light once it gets down below about 1.4 volts. This is not as strange as it might seem. Alkaline and NiMh batteries have a very different voltage versus load characteristic. The voltage of an alkaline will drop quite a bit as soon as the normal operating load is put on it. The voltage of a NiMh will hardly drop at all under the same load. I have bought 2 more of these clocks and all 3 of them are working the same, good, and quiet. Update December 30, 2019: Of the 3 of these I bought, one quit running after about 10 months. The 2nd one all of a sudden got noisy after being used for about 9 months. But it is only noisy when it is laying on its back. When it is standing up it is still pretty quiet, but not as quiet as when new. Both of those clocks spent about 8 hours per day "laying down" which is of course the most stable position when they are on a mattress. The 3rd clock has been going for 19 months and is still accurate and reasonably quiet, but not as quiet as when new. That clock just stands upright all the time in the front hall. It is not used as an alarm clock. I don't think it would be a good bedroom clock at this point (not quiet enough). I guess I could conclude that laying down is not good for these clocks. Or maybe that isn't it, maybe they just have a short life on the average, with a lot of variation from one to another. I have a way now of keeping the bedroom clock standing up all the time and I bought a 4th clock to use that way. I really like the simple ergonomics of this clock. I would gladly pay $20 or $30 each for these things if I knew they would be "forever" quality like my old Seiko/Lorus. But they are not. The Pluteck was worse - got very noisy almost immediately so I threw it away a long time ago.

Easy to use and does the job
I really like this alarm clock. Very easy to use and perfect for me. I just wanted a alarm clock to wake me up and it definitely does the job.

Just as described and easy to use
Exactly as described. Functions great with the ascending tone to gently, at first, wake you up. I like how the knobs making setting the time and alarm easy. Going from a digital where I had to scroll through 23 hours whenever daylight savings time changed or if I needed to wake up earlier. This alarm clock is double the size of the digital predecessor, but I enjoy how easy it is to operate and would purchase again.

Nice Basic Alarm Clock
The alarm clock keeps good time. it is a good size for a bedside or travel, taking up minimal space but still being readable due to the straightforward design of the dial face and hands. The audio is exceptionally clear at all volume levels, even at full volume, which is plenty loud for personal use. The alarm time pointer is accurate as much as any small mechanical alarm can be. However, at alarm time it emits a sharp metallic "ping" as the alarm starts. I assume this is the internal trigger mechanism. If you did NOT turn on the alarm, the "ping" still occurs. The alarm does start somewhat softly and then increases in volume in steps, but the incremental volume steps are short, only a few (maybe 8?) seconds each. They should be longer, or what is the sense of having graduated volumes? Along with this, the initial volume needs to be lower than it is, at least for my sleepy ears. The light is better than shown in the item listing. In fact, it is about twice as bright as it needs to be for me to see the entire clock face clearly. About the no-tick feature and other reviewers' claims about the movement being noisy anyway: Yes, the hands run smoothly, but if I put my ear within about 3 inches of the clock I can hear a gritty sound like that of slowly pouring dry beans or rice into a bowl. This does not affect my sleep. I assume this is likely caused by a flywheel mechanism by which the clock motor still generates pulses, but smaller and more frequently than the one-second "clunks" other clocks have. I have another similar clock (from a different vendor) that became much noisier after a while, and then settled down to quiet again after 2 years. I am sure the mechanisms are not like those in fine watches, so manufacturing tolerances and the wear of the continuously rotating parts may be the cause of different levels of noise that different buyers experience. For the cost, the alarm clock does a good job.

Great little gem!
This simple clock is practical and easy to set up as an alarm for waking up in the morning. We wanted a cellphone free bedroom and this was the perfect addition. Snooze function will provide about 2-3minutes, then it will ring again. The alarm is loud enough and gets louder progressively, if not shut off. Has a dim light available when you press the snooze button. Great for knowing the time without the brightness in your eyes. Initially the low ticking was apparent, but itโs easy to get used to. I donโt notice it anymore Perfect size for my small nightstand. Battery life is amazing, have not replaced them and itโs been 6 months.

Simple, easy to read, basic alarm clock.
Very simple alarm clock. Replaced one that my 90 year old mother had for 50 years. I donโt expect this to last 50 years but itโs very easy for her to see and she really likes the light for night use. If you are looking for a very basic clock, this is it. Itโs only been in use a few days so I will update if there are any issues that arise.

I love this little clock.
I keep hearing that it's not good to have your cell phone in the bedroom. But, i often wake in the middle of the night and want to know what time it is. So, I bought this little clock and now leave my phone in the living room. It's perfect. It fits easily on my small night-stand, and does not tick or make any sound. It has a little button you can use to turn on the internal light to see the time. And although it has an alarm, I don't need it. It really is perfect for what I wanted.

Works after minor fixing.
Positive things first: The clock is very legible and seems to keep good time with a silent quartz movement - it has an alarm alert sound and volume with is fine enough to get your attention if you are already awake... however I don't think I'd trust it to get me up out of bed, as I'm a pretty heavy sleeper. Your success with it as an alarm clock may vary. Its construction is all plastic which shouldn't surprise anyone at this price point. I will say that it seems like fairly durable plastic... the case at least seems like it might take a decent knock without shattering to pieces though I'm reluctant to test that theory. The tiny LED light works nicely to illuminate the clock face. In this clock at least, it operates as a "push-to-illuminate" button - you have to keep holding it down for it to remain lit. This is probably because the same top button also serves as the "snooze" function. It also means that you won't accidentally be able to click the switch to some On-position and forget about it as the LED light burns through battery energy. Its a decent travel-size, very portable. Does not come with a case like a true "travel-clock" has, so it is being kept in the box it came in going from home to work... just to provide some measure of protection. Now for the less-than-positive issue: I bought this little clock for my Mother who is currently teaching remote with her students - she needed something she could bring back-and-forth to either work or home (depending on where she was teaching from) to make sure each student got their minutes of time in with her. She keeps it in the box, it goes in one of her school bags she takes along with her. It's not getting beat-about by burly baggage-handlers or rattling around in the tool box of a truck bed, is what I'm trying to say. Exactly ONE DAY after the 30-day return policy expired, she called me and said that the second hand had fallen off. Now, not necessarily the end of the world - but still pretty annoying. I mean, for 11 bucks I was expecting a gingerly-handled product like this to last at LEAST maybe 6 months - maybe a year? with no real issue? No such luck. The good part about it all, was that it seemed to be an easy fix. I took a butter-knife and carefully lifted the sides of the clear plastic front covering away and off of the face of the clock. It was pressure-mounted, with no hardware to unscrew or release with clips, so yay for cheaply-made consumer goods? After that was quickly set aside, I just carefully aligned the second-hand back on the central rotating spindle mechanism and pressed it in with gentle force. It began moving as it should, the effort resulting in a clock that now has its seconds-hand back and operating again. I wasn't going to use glue - because I'd probably lock up and freeze all the hands of the clock - so instead, if the second-hand falls off again, we've agreed to just pry off the front cover once more and remove the hand from the clock entirely. Mom doesn't really NEED a seconds-hand, so long as the rest of the clock works. As for working - it's chugging along. Other than that seconds-hand falling off, it seems to continue to operate well...as a time keeping machine. Part of me remains suspect that maybe everything I need to know about the build-quality has been represented by that detaching hand... but I also feel like potentially it was just a fluke thing, or maybe the guy in the factory who's job was to tap the seconds-hand onto the clocks with a tiny brass hammer just wasn't feeling himself that particular day? Didn't tap the hands quite hard enough? Who knows. Mom is willing to keep using it, if it does something horrid of stops working out of nowhere, I'll be sure to chime back in. Other than that one issue, she likes the clock for everything else about it. If this thing manages to last for a solid year or more, I'll give it another star - but for right now, I think 3 stars is being generous only because it did require some minor intervention of my own to correct a part that fell off. Generally, I'd expect that shouldn't happen to MOST people, so I'll see what the next 11 months brings and if I reconsider my rating.

A breeze to use
Delighted with purchase, it's well built, easy to use and keeps accurate time. The night light button on top doubles as a torch at night. Great, no longer rely on mobile phone for alarm.
