Received one a few days ago & after 44 hrs it hasnt collected a single drop. Have I got a faulty unit or is there something I need to do to set it up?

I don’t remember setting anything up. Try standing a cup of water near it to test the unit. Humidity is low in a lot of places at the moment so it could be that there’s not enough in the air for your unit to collect any water. Take the tank out too and double check everything’s in order inside.

How do you charge this machine or is it battery powered?

This unit is operated purely from the elctrical outlet. It has a 220 volt to low voltage adaptorr which you plug into the rear of the unit. I have run this unit 24/7 and have not seen any increase in my power comsumption over the months I have used it.

Would this work with a smart plug, in the sense of, once it's on, it will stay on and will start working as soon as you turn the plug switch on?

If the plug has been turned off at the socket, and then turned back on, then mine needs to be turned back on actually on the dehumidifier
