If this is indeed 24 carrat gold, then it is pure gold. Pure gold is a noble metal and therefore resists chemical action in the human body. It will not affect you if eaten. It has absolutely zero nutritional value, but will not affect you in any way if eaten in small amounts. Obviously, eating a pound of it is probably going to have some adverse effects simply because you're introducing a lot of foreign material to your system; just like eating a bowl of sand would have some adverse effects. Again, that's if this product is indeed 24 carrat gold as advertised.

I believe the answer is no. Meaning, it is not toxic if consumed, but not meant to be eaten. Only for decorative items. There are companies that make an EDIBLE VERSION. For example, Evil Cake Genius makes it.
