Strong Approval
It’s a GREAT Companion. I have paired the Complete Polish Beginner to Intermediate Course: Learn to read, write, speak and understand to my current tools I am using to learn Polish. I use the Complete Polish: Teach Yourself to help provide explanations of grammar, endings, the different cases. A audio via online comes with the Complete Polish Beginner to Intermediate Course: Learn to read, write, speak and understand book and follows the book. This has been helpful in review and hearing pronunciations. The book uses everyday interaction to help build your form and vocabulary.

Not worth any amount of money
I bought this book in order to learn Polish from the position of a complete beginner. If that is what you too intend to do, then you will definitely want to find another option. I cannot stress this enough - this book is terrible for beginners. Some reasons:1. It's riddled with spelling mistakes and typos.2. Some of the sentences written in English make absolutely no sense.3. Structure of the book is bizzare. After a week in Warsaw, I've found it's more important to be able to ask for basic things/order food than to be able to talk about my family or my sightseeing plans. They should have expanded way more on the absolute basics.4. Grammar rules are sparingly sprinkled throughout chapters, but they often cause more confusion. There are no decent verb tables, no detailed explanation of declensions, and I didn't see any explanation of sentence structure.5. Some questions just don't have answers in the back, which can be frustrating. Also, some questions are so vague that they can't be answered ("How much of the conversation did Person A understand?")I did however like the dialogue sections, along with the accompanying audio tracks. I feel like these helped my pronunciation immensely at the start, and working out what was being said did help me understand some simple expressions.Nevertheless, I feel the highly praised discovery method is just a lazy way of not writing the book. You may as well get Duolingo or something, you'll get the same experience, but with less confusion and £20 staying in your account.

Great reinforcement for learning Polish
I find this course book extremely helpful and easy to follow. I had tried to "relearn" the Polish I heard growing up using Rosetta Stone and found it just did not work for me. I enrolled in a Polish class taught by a native Polish teacher. The textbook we use for that class is completely in Polish so translation of directions is necessary and done in class. I bought this book for use over the summer to reinforce what I had learned in class. This book can be used easily since it is bilingual. It is detailed in the sounds of letters in the Polish alphabet, accompanied by the audio. I find it helpful that you can relisten to any audio as many times as necessary. It is also nice that there is an answer key for the written exercises. All in all, I think this is a great aid to learning Polish.
