This pedal is a lot of fun for both new and intermediate players. Although it isn't a professional grade effects pedal, it produces clean effects that can't be beat for the money. It will allow users to experiment with different sounds to see what they prefer. It does take some time to understand the controls but all in all, it's fairly easy to use. I only have three things I would change. Make it bigger, make it out of metal, (both would raise the price point) and make the different presets the same basic volume. Some of them are quite loud. Aside from that, I would reccomend this to just enjoy the different effects. Can't beat it for the price.

I got this for my teaching studio. I generally plug into a clean bass amp while teaching electric bass or guitar, and only at conversational volumes, so had no access to distorted tones etc. Not that it really matters, I’m a big proponent of not hiding behind effects, but sometimes it’s fun and useful to “go hot.” I wanted acceptable tone, small size, and an expression/wah pedal. And with considerable tweaking, I’ve got it. The presets are, imo, terrible lol. I’m no noob, have worked with menu laden multi effects boards including a Roland gr-55. There’s an obnoxious digital fizz on many of the patches, the volumes are all over the place. It took some considerable time to work through all the options and create 3 useful tones. I didn’t figure out a way to copy and move patches (maybe my fault, I’m not reading a Mooer manual lol), so to have 3 useful ones in a row meant creating them “from scratch.” It’s a situation where you really have to use your ears and not expect the parameters to do what they’re supposed to, for instance, the Mooer compressor is unusable, whereas it’s a staple on all my “real” pedal boards and recording setups. But after some wrestling, I got 3 acceptable tones, all next to each other, at a low price, in a small package. It’s tough to say who this is for. It’s priced for beginners, but the patches are so bad, I see it being extremely frustrating for the player, and family members who’d have to listen to it lol. For a power user, it’s also frustrating to hunt down what’s causing offensive sounds and figure out how to achieve your tone when the parameters don’t do what they’re supposed to. But I get what I need out of it, and I can honestly say it sounds “pretty good” after a few months of use.

Good item for mid beginners to intermediate. I am at the intermediate stage. It has more than what I need, intense manual but I was able to get a cool beat,dial the bpm down and had some effect wah. It works and I sounded good practicing. I don't have time to go through everything yet and there is probably stuff I will never use. I will compare it to my actual big muff π as there is that is included. Bought on sale and you will still spend that on 1 good pedal. Still not on sale I would recommend. You really can't beat it for the drum and looper alone.

This multi-effects pedal is very versatile with an amazing number of effects and features. It certainly doesn't have the quality of construction and sound that the high priced multi-effects pedals do, but it is amazing for the price and easily good enough for learning, practice, and even amateur level gigs. For people who make their living playing guitar, this is not up to the task of most performances. This goes well with a small, inexpensive practice amp and that seems to be its niche. But inexpensive guitars, amps, and effects pedals get used by most electric guitarists on some occasions regardless of their skill levels. It's why the Taylor GS Mini has been their biggest seller, even with professional guitarists. Big bang for the buck. This is a great buy!

This review is for the Mooer White ver GE 1000. I purchased this item almost a month ago. I've done a lot of reading in each manual on this product, and a few of it's competition. Most notably, the Hotone Ampero II MP-350 and MP-380. It feels like a close comparison to the MP-350. Disclaimer, I do not own the Hotone Ampero II nor have I heard it with my own ears and with my guitar. Neither the Mooer or Hotone equipment is able to be demoed by me from any music store, anywhere near me. So it's like buy it, try it, and decide if you like it. Build Quality: I use this for my bedroom. It's attractive looking. It's solid and sleek. It feels like it's built well. The 5" touchscreen is a plus. It works great. The font is a little small, but I'm getting older so are my eyes, so I have to use cheaters to look at the display. It is what it is. Still it's easy to identify exactly what I'm doing and what I want to do. There's no crazy amount of menus. It's all pretty straight forward. When plugging in my guitar cable, I hear that click. I will say that the USB and DC power ports have some play in it when you plug it in, while it's attached, but I'm not ruff with this equipment. Always treat your cables, power supply, equipment, etc, like porcelain. It's sturdy but mess around too much and you could break it. Here's some differences between GE 1000 and the MP-350. (Now, I do not own the Hotone btw, I've just read thru all their manuals, watched videos n such. I did my homework.) (Nor is this meant to bash any products or brands.) This section is just to help you see some features and decide for yourself what features you want. Lastly, I'm just a dumb guitar player, I'm not an expert sound engineer. First off, The Hotone MP-350 and MP-380 has "Tone Catch" or Amp/Pedal capture, where you can essentially upload the sound onto the device. The GE 1000 does not have this feature, but the GS 1000 does. When just viewing a preset, with the Mooer as you go thru the presets, you'll quickly see what amp or fx is being using in the signal chain. It'll show Ping Pong for example for your delay. You can't see that with the MP-350. You'll just see DLY and you'd have to select that effect and seeing what it is on that device. This holds true for AMP, CAB, etc. The little buttons on the Mooer, under the touchscreen are very nice in that you can simply press one for the corresponding effect and mess with the parameters. Hotone is missing that feature. In looper mode, when you create a loop, and turn off the unit, the Mooer will save it while the Hotone will not. The Mooer has 14 blocks in the signal chain while the Hotone has 12 blocks. The GS 1000 uses TRS Midi but I dunno if it's A or B. The GE1000 has traditional Midi inputs so no need for adapters. GE 1000 - 85 Banks 255 storage spaces total. MP-350 - 300 patches GE 1000 - effects - 350+ MP-350 - effects - 460+ (incl. global EQ) GE 1000 - Looper - up to 8 minutes of recording time. MP-350 60 seconds Both units Sampling rate 44.1 kHz Sampling accuracy 24 bit GE 1000 - Number of module types 11 MP-350 has 17 GE 1000 - Dynamic Range - Audio Analog-to-Digital Converter114 dB MP-350 - Dynamic Range: (digital to analog) Max. 127 dB *I don't see a simple comparison that matches. GE 1000 does not have mic simulator where you can move the mic around the modeled cabinet to seek a different tone. The MP-350 does. GE 1000 has bluetooth for using your phone to pull up a song and jam with it, and even wireless so you can connect say the Mooer F4 P1 wireless footswitch and it pairs with it. I'm not seeing that the MP-350 has these features. Mooer is a Chinese company and Hotone appears to be based in India. Mooer GE 1000 - A.I. assistant EQ Hotone - does not have this feature Now, I dunno what kinda technology is in this GE1000 nor do I really care. The Hotone for example (and other brands) will describe their technology, but really, what does that even mean when it's exclusive to that brand. I don't see how you or I are going to fully understand what their chips all mean or how to compare them anyway other then having their product, trying to overload it, and just straight up listening to them with your own ears to see what their DSP can handle. Now I'm going to talk about what I think about it. The GE 1000 I been using the BOSS BR 600 since it came out in 2006. That unit was sick for it's time, but it's not modern anymore, and let's be honest, it's not user friendly. The Mooer GE 1000 caught my eye cause it comes in white for those low light settings, a touch screen, the ease of use, and modern connectivity. I also bought it for a steal of $408 on sale from off Amazon. If the Hotone had that price at the time, I'd probably be writing a review on that product instead. Honestly, for all this device can do, take my money for that price. I picked this over the GS 1000 because I personally think it's better cause I don't really care for the tone capture cause I'm not swimming in equipment. I've been playing guitar long enough that I was able to duplicate the tones on the Boss BR 600 onto the Mooer by ear and make them better. I don't need fancy LEDs under it. I wanted a volume/exp pedal built in. I want something easy to use and this is. When I first got it, I went thru all the presets and dug them. That honeymoon period is always a blast with new gear. Spending more time with it I was going to return it. Yeah. The reason was because when you hold down a note on the guitar and just pluck the string and let it ring out, as the sound fades out, I'd hear cracking/popping sounds. Mainly with just the distortion tones. This killed the experience. I play dirty mostly. However I do love my cleans like the next person. However, there's nothing on the internet that will tell about this issue nor how to fix it. Also, no reviewer ever shows this when they demo equipment. They just hit notes and 15min later, it's like so yeah there's the device. So take their and My opinion as a grain of salt. Always try something out for yourself and who cares what others say. Always do your homework. You can make professional music with this device. I don't care what others say, you can. Anyway, So here is the issue and what I did to fix it. The issue is with their Noise Gate effect pedal. Yes, it's first in the chain. Would it do it in a different block on the signal chain? I dunno. I didn't get that far. I fixed the issue by messing with the parameters and I'm still able to use the Noise Gate. You just have to mess with the Attack and Release parameters to find where it works, now I'm loving it. That popping/crackle sound is gone. Seriously, going thru the cab models, it's hard to find a favorite because they sound really good. The effects also sound really good. I'm quite impressed. Mooer did a really good job with this pedal imo. You'd think, oh it's Chinese it just suck, but no, I think they did a great job with this unit. I think it's top notch for it's price bracket. If I had loads of money and could try out all the different products I would, but I can't, so again, take my opinion with a grain of salt. Yes, it does sound better than the BOSS BR-600 in terms of effects. That should be expected though as seeing the products are like 20 years apart. I choose the GE1000 non Li version because I don't care for the battery nor did I want to pay more for that feature, That's just my personal preference. I see it as the battery will only last so long anyway and I just chill in my bedroom so that feature is unneeded for my application. I picked the white color because it's easier to see in low light. I had other multi effect pedals in the past that were black and honestly, I'm tired of using a little pocket flashlight to see what I'm adjusting. I guess I like living in a cave so what. The groove machine is meh but not unusable or horrible imo. It works for what it is. I didn't buy it for this feature even though it's nice to have, I'd rather just get a dedicated drum machine or use my DAW. I also purchased the Mooer GL100 because I wanted to save more loops. and they work in conjunction with one another, and other loopers..well..while nice, means more money, and the GL 100 is affordable. Review on that later when I've spent more time with that device. Yes, yes, but how does it sound you might ask? I think it sounds amazing. This is subjective as we all have different tastes. What I can tell you is, you can make professional music with it. You can tweak presets, eq, and global eq to make that tone you want. There's enough to chose from in this device that you should be able to make quite a lot of presets that you'll love to play with. It has the ability for you to be creative and tweak and move things around. Since I'm still rather new with it, I'm still checking out how it works with Dynamic playing. Like, light pick attacks vs low pick attacks, low volume vs high volume. So far, depending on what you selected, it's working out fine. I'm still messing with this though. The editor software and my experience with Mooer support. I couldn't install the software on my PC, their Mooer Studio. Mooer responded to my email like a day later. They sent me a video and a link to troubleshooting. These things you could google for yourself though, but at least they replied with help. I figured it out on my own though. First, you need the ASIO file, then you have to disable any firewall/antivirus running and it should install. I didn't realize that even though I disabled those things, I didn't disable sandbox mode so that was what was holding up the install. The software installed fine, was able to update firmware on the GE 1000 with no issues. I just followed the directions that Mooer provides on that front. I really like their editor. Only thing I dislike about their software is that they do not have an UNDO button. if you made a mistake, you have to switch to a different preset, wait a few sec for that to load, then switch back, then wait a few seconds for it to load. Otherwise, it's fine to use. The ease of use on this product is intuitive. That's what I want, the KISS method, keep it simple stupid. It's enjoyable and fun to use bot the pedal and the editor. A big feature of this product, imo, is the A.I. EQ assistant. This is actually killer. You select your play style, Country or Metal for example, and Clean or OD for example, then just play your guitar and it'll set it up for you. My experience is, do it a few times as it may not be perfect the first time. Much like doing a tone capture. If anything, it'll give you a great starting point to EQ out your preset. This is so helpful to newbies that don't yet know how to use an EQ. I've also done the four cable method with this device into my amp and it's amazing. I don't have close to two grand to buy the more expensive pedals so this is top tier for me. Honestly, I've been playing guitar for like 25 years now, so this is a game changer from the stuff I've used in the past. I haven't dug into all the effects and played with them yet, like a lot of of the modulators. I will though. This can do I/Rs via thru their software. It appears you can have up to 30 (maybe 35) while the MP-350 has 50. I haven't messed with this feature just yet, but I will and can update this review when I have enough experience with it. I am still reading to understand why they name it GIR and GNR and what that means. It's not spelled out what specifically means in the manual. It's another thing I need to learn. From what I understand though, you create an account with Mooer, then you can upload or download other users I/Rs. Cool. There are some youtube videos out there you can see it in use and Leo does an amazing review on that as he does with all his videos imo. Final thoughts I got this for a heck of a deal. I guess I got lucky. My option my be biased based on that alone. I'm happy with my purchase. I'm new to the Mooer community but it appears they make good products. I'd say in this price bracket there are quite of few other good options, so it all boils down to what features you want. If you can try to demo anything, do so before buying cause I was seriously thinking before I fixed that crackle/popping issue, that I only had a week left to return it and then I'd have to buy something different, but I don't know if I would like it any better. Always do what you can to resolve an issue till you realize you can or can't, then make a decision. There's always going to be something better that comes out. Find something that works for you and enjoy it while you can. I won't say you should buy this over another product because I have no experience using the other product. I don't know your experience with equipment either. If you wanted to buy your kid this product, I think they'd love it. If you are on a budget like me and want something like this. My suggestion would be to stay in this price bracket or even go a little higher if you can. You get what you pay for really. All in all this product is dope and I think you'd like it as much as me.

Budget pedal with budget results. You will spend a lot of time trying to find your sound. If your sound is Pantera or something similar, you will never find your sound. This pedal is not a monster. This pedal will also add a significant amount of noise to your playing. You can get rid of a tiny bit of it with the noise gate, but the only way to get rid of all the noise is to turn the noise gate up so high that it won't play any sound 🤣. The looper is not great. The drums are generic. The expression pedal is not accurate, and it doesn't like to stay where you put it. It is built very well, though. You could probably drop this thing from your roof and it would be fine. If you need to assault someone with a pedal, this would be a good choice. If you need a versatile pedal with great sounds, this isn't it. Don't even get me started on how fast this thing will vacuum the life out of a battery. You better write songs real damn fast, cause you have maybe an hour between fresh batteries and dead batteries. The screen sucks. It's basically an orange gameboy screen. All that being said, I managed to get it to do a couple of very specific things very well so, it has some value, for me. Your mileage may vary.

Product is as expected. Bought as a gift and my 15 yo son loves it.
