My grill plates are coated? Will this scrape off that coating?

It shouldn’t, it doesn’t take off ours

will this work on charcoal grill grates?

Yes the best grill cleaner i ever used. It continues to clean my grill grates every time. Follow the directions on the box and you can’t go wrong

Does the scrubbing part need to be replaced often or does it hold up well?

How many times did you use it before it needs to be replaced?

It does work with infrared charbroil grills?

Yes, but not well. This is made more for grill grates not the infrared style grates. It really just gets the tops of the grill clean not in between the grates very well.
