Norelco Philips Multigroom Series 7000 23 Piece Mens Grooming Kit, Trimmer for Beard, Head, Body, and Face - NO Blade Oil Needed, MG7750/49

I learned years ago how to cut my own hair out of necessity. Following a career mostly away from heavy population had me ignoring my hair as it grew long, and since long hair was all the rage among the Hippies in those days, I sort of fit right in. When it was trimmed however, it was for a crewcut, and I still prefer wearing that today. Up until Covid I was visiting the local barber shop for my regular crewcut, but since then have necessarily returned to cutting my own hair again due to the shutdowns. Always using the Norelco shavers, the built in trimmer was convenient for cutting hair, but it was somewhat tedious and time consuming, so I eventually purchased a Wahl family haircut clipper and still had to cut my own hair, but at least it was quicker and easier just to shave my head bald. Mullet cuts were unheard of until recently, and I prefer a shorter cut on top anyway. When Covid hit, this Phillips Norelco trimmer was selling for almost $100, and when I saw the price suddenly drop to $45 I scooped one up just as quickly as I could click it on the Amazon page. It's an excellent trimmer that is smaller than regular hair clippers and is also equipped to give haircuts. It also gives a not-so-close shave using the standard trimmer attachment. Convenient for those who don't like to shave every day. I counted about 19 different attachments that are packaged with the trimmer, and it has an excellent rechargeable Li-Ion battery that lasts a very long time, all fitting into a convenient zipper bag. If you have a family member that is willing to do haircuts, who better than old Pop to practice carving a Fade with sculptured sides this trimmer is made for? If you watch Youtube videos, there is a hint that specialty cuts are coming back into vogue, and I'm beginning to see the high wave Pompadours and trims that were common in the 1950s. Yeah I'm old, but these new styles are really eye catching and I also like the 1960s short Bobs and Pixie cuts on women too. The new cuts for women are really getting bold, some leaving their beautiful long hair on top, giving an occasional peek at the short sculptured sides underneath. Stunning! I'm getting excellent service out my trimmer now after getting my very best haircut ever. Regardless that I will eventually return to the local Great Cuts barber shop whenever they can open up for business again, this trimmer will still get a lot of use. And I'll have it in case it's needed again. It's a keeper for sure.

Great product. Incredible battery life. I misplaced the charger it held its charge so incredibly long. Good cut quality. Not an Andis, but at this price point ya can't beat it.

Two years. That's how long I went before this trimmer asked me for a single charge. I bought it on May 14, 2024. I am writing this on June 3, 2026, which means I have been trimming my face multiple times a week for over two years on a single charge. Let that sink in. Empires have risen. My phone has died 4,000 times. This thing just kept going like a tiny, loyal Roomba for my jaw. I have no other beard trimmer to compare it to, because frankly I haven't needed one. It's easy to use, effective, and so low-maintenance I forgot it required electricity at all. It does everything I ask and never complains. My one real complaint: today when it finally died, and I had to perform an archaeological dig through the back of my cabinet to locate the charging cord I last saw during the Biden administration. I genuinely didn't recognize it. We've grown apart. Five stars. Charging it now for the first time, with a single tear in my eye.

We bought this shaver/trimmer for quarantine haircuts last year, because it showed up as part of that search and had great reviews. We were first-time DIY hairstylists and trusted that this kit was comprehensive for whatever we might need, due in part to the large number of pieces it came with. That didn't work out so well, but I'd still recommend the trimmer, just not for haircuts. Bottom line, you should buy this only if you're keeping your hair very short. Happily, my husband started using it for beard grooming, so it's paid for itself after all. It's sturdy and the battery seems like it holds a charge for several hours, though I haven't timed it. The downside is that it is really just a beard and body trimmer, not a haircutting tool. The longest guard included is 16mm or about 0.6 inch. If you want anything longer than a buzz cut, you'd be better off getting a Wahl, as there are so many Wahl-branded length guards, and because their basic kit already comes with attachments up to 1 inch. We ended up needing to buy multiple "universal" guards sized 1-inch and longer, and they are not a good fit with this trimmer (they wobble and we have to tighten them on with rubber bands) while the reviews on the universal guard stated that the Wahl trimmer did fit them. I wish I had done more research and read more reviews before purchasing this. I didn't realize that you can't buy longer guards for the Philips or I definitely would have bought a different trimmer instead, and for half the price too. For nearly $60, plus the cost of the extra guards we had to buy, this was a costly mistake to make. However, on the plus side, the trimmer has worked well for almost a year, I use it to clean up the sides and back of my boy's hair, and since my husband began trimming his beard with it, I'm not so annoyed at all those "unnecessary" attachments. It's easy to operate and fairly easy to clean. The weight is good and it hasn't cut anyone. All in all, this is a durable electric shaver with a ton of attachments for lengths under half an inch. If you're buying it for eyebrows, nose/ear hair, bears, armpits/body hair, etc., it's a good buy. If you're buying it to make cutting your hair during COVID faster and easier, get a different brand that fits longer guards.

Okay, so let me say, I owned a more expensive pair of clippers from the same company that are a couple years old. They had sliders on the guides which did make adoring on the fly easier. However they were also flimsy and I have had the accidental divot in my hair, which sucks. That pair is still going but I wanted something more in tune with fine details as I now have a full beard and not just a goatee. So, onward to this new system. First I notice the tray it cones in is better made. It has a full base so you can just set it in your drawer (the other was short on one side so it didn’t sit flush and part fell out). This shaver does not have the slider adjusting guides but, tbh I prefer this method. It’s a little more effort to swap every guide as needed but it enables a much more clean shave. I found the few I wanted and those stay in the display case while the rest go into the bag they provide and it sits nicely under the case in your drawer. One thing that sets this system apart is the sharpness of the blades. No pulling, it just cuts with ease. (My prior pair cut fine but slow). These cut clean and fast, so you aren’t going so slow you twitch and end up missing a patch of hair. Add to that the silence. I used to do my tweaking early morning when I had company because my prior pair was fairly loud. The first time I used them I warned my company and prepared to have some loud shaving and it was quieter than my toothbrush lol. Very quiet, moreso even than my high end foil shaver. I was impressed. So now let’s discuss the parts. This shaver basically gives you three clipper heads, with multiple spacers for clipping hair or beard. It includes a very small detail trimmer for getting the fine corners and lines just right. (Love that one, enables me to get rid of those annoying hairs right under my nose). It also comes with the typical war and nose trimmer, a small foil shaver (I like the actual capability of this but it did leave some razor burn, I will use it with cream the next time) that really gets rid of the shorter hairs that pop up around your beard edges. Now the look and feel. This is a nice slim shaver. Hefty in your hand as it’s made from metal not plastic. Perfect fit and size to be able to manipulate to come in from those awkward angles. Has clean lines and looks sharp. Something I actually wouldn’t throw in a drawer to hide from sight if I had been using it. Today I tested it on my actual hair, and this thing is easy to wield and handles my hair like it was a hot knife thru butter. I truly enjoy using this system. I kept my other one in case I needed something it had since the approach is completely different in regards to the guides. But I see no reason to do so any longer.

After 7 years of of regular use this thing has endured, it still performs as new. Its the perfect trimmer for the men's daily grooming routine. I am an especially hairy man, and this has kept me looking my best with zero maintenance. I use a trimmed paint brush to clear hair from the trimmer and components, and that is it. 7 years, no oil, no degradation of performance.

I have been using various Wahl groomers/clippers for years but decided to try something new. I must say, I'm incredibly impressed. Beard My beard was rather long - about three inches. It's now getting pretty warm out, so I figured it was time to trim it down. I slapped the 16mm guard on and went to town. It sliced off that extra length like it was nothing. Straight through it -- no pulling/grabbing whatsoever. Amazing. It took my scraggly ~76mm long beard to an even 16mm all around in about a minute. Fantastic. Nose/Ear Not much to say about this one. It works for the nose. No ear hair (yet) to try it on. Nose trimming worked well. Body Specifically lower body, if you catch my meaning. Our kid was at her grandparents' house for a few days, so figured I'd trim the hedges as it were for the wife. Just like the beard trimming, no issues at all. Mostly. Now, this was completely my fault, and I was hesitant to even try, but gotta do what you gotta do, ya know? I put the 1mm length guard on and carefully positioned near the ol' bean bag. Yeah. Mistake! Oh, the carnage. Keep this guy away from sensitive, easily foldable/wrinkled areas. Chews right through. But I digress. Head Hair This is where I was the most impressed. If you've used Wahl clippers before, you know their guards are fairly rigid, but the tines on the guard have a tendency to move left or right, leaving larger gaps between them. This usually results in extended clipping time as you need to go over and over to make sure it's all cut and even. Not so with the Philips Norelco. These guards are as rigid as can be. I have thick hair and it was about 2 inches long when I took the 4mm guard through it. Like a hot knife through butter. Cut nicely, right down to the guard length without having to make multiple passes. Probably one of the quickest clipper cuts I've given myself. Usually I have my wife give it a once over to find the patches the Wahl missed. Had her check after using this one and there was nothing. It cut perfectly. The shape of the clipper itself was perfect for trimming around my ears sans guard. Noise This is quite quiet. My wife even commented on quiet it was compared to my Wahl trimmers. Cleanup The included brush makes it a breeze to clean around the guards and clipper attachments. You can also run it under the water to clean all the bits. My only issue is there's a white grease-like substance (think thermal paste for a computer) that's inside the handle bit and each clipper attachment that collects hair really easily. The product description says it doesn't need oil and I haven't taken the time to research this grease, yet, but i'd imagine it serves some purpose I'm not yet aware of. Overall Fantastic. I'd recommend you grab this if you need to replace your older trimmer/groomer/clippers.

This is my favorite product by Philips Norelco. I’ve had two of these and hope they never discontinue it. The trimmer offers a wide variety of guards, blades, and even a nose and ear trimmer, all of which work very well. For context, I use a beard trimmer with no guard for my face and the 1mm beard guard for my head and back of my neck. I’m also very hairy (think Magnum PI). I prefer to trim my body instead of wax or shave. I have to trim my head and face every other day due to quick hair growth. For the record, I DO NOT recommend this product if you plan on doing any extensive “manscaping”. While it might work well for safe places like your belly and chest, the blades are not adequately designed to prevent disasters in tighter, more sensitive areas. Philips Norelco makes another product for that purpose, so I’d encourage you to explore that one instead. For everything above the neck, though, this is the best trimmer out there. The only reason why I had to buy another is that the plastic guards eventually lose their grip. The connectors wear down, resulting in them popping off when you’re trying to trim. I don’t recall how long that takes (years for sure), but by that time the blades are far less sharp and need replacing anyhow. While no blade oil is required for this product, I might recommend adding some periodically if you plan on getting the blades wet for any reason. I never do, so I’ve been able to get long lasting frequent use from this product without oiling the blades. I highly recommend this trimmer. Solidly built, very sharp, and very reliable for heavy use.

I hate shaving, let me make that clear before we begin..! I cannot use a razor, my skin is useless and will go bright red and burn for days, so a shaver it is... I have always bought shavers at around the £20\30 mark but decided to treat myself. I had not shaved for 5\6 days (hate shaving remember) so once the shaver was all charged up, off i went.. There was no pulling hairs, nipping me, scratching me, no missing hairs, no having to go over the same place time after time, this thing just glided over my big face cutting the longish beard... with so much grace..! I always have a stubble as my useless skin will burn if i even close shave with a shaver and this is perfect length without any heads on it... So sharp, so easy to use and easy to hold... I almost want to shave everyday now.... That is not good for me BUT yes the shaver is that good... The best i have ever used on my big face by a long hair...!! If you are considering buying this beast, go for it, you will not be disappointed.. And if you are, you must have been using some hot shaver...! I will only update this if something goes wrong as i am very happy with the beast..

This is really great product. I wish there were a tool for getting a really close shave - the foil attachment is quite small, but realistically this product is not a fool shaver. Also, it is pretty inconvenient to sort through all the attachments - having a “basics” set in a different colour would be nice - or shipping the product with a case that had slots for each blade guard. Always feels chaotic to have to rifle through the bag, especially because the length is just embossed and in the bathroom I have to turn the lights on and put my glasses on to check “is this 2mm?” If it had a case that would be really straightforward. Also, I’m not sure what the deal is with standing water in between the blade and the mechanism (in the cavity where they attach). I try to shake it out and leave it open to air dry in between uses but .. yeah that seems to me like a strange aspect of it - there should maybe be some sort of draining mechanism? Sometimes I set mine upside down to drip dry but I’m not sure that’s necessary. Overall, I made do with a really cheap tool like this that I picked up ina. Drug store - for this price, there’s no reason not to get this product: I use it most days, it is clearly built to last, and it’s WAY more functional than the budget tool I used before this. I only wish I had bought this tool sooner- would have saved a lot of headaches and messy facial hair days.
