What a fantastic read - gripping from the start
I adored this book. It had the perfect mix of humour and meaningful back story lines. The back story to the grandmother was very moving, as my brother's wife has what the grandmother has. I dont want to ruin the story, so I will say no more on that. I very much hope that this author writes more books.

A cute, fun, easy-going, closed-door rom-com!
3.5 stars!Lucy is an interior designer and workaholic to the point that it's damaging her sanity and her overall well-being. She is on shaky ground with her best friend Katie, who is essentially a sister to her, after choosing her work over her friendship one too many times. To make it up to Katie, Lucy has agreed to join a yoga/wellness/meditation/breathing class where she meets Zack, a "good vibes only" type of instructor whose slightly pompous attitude rubs Lucy the wrong way. As fate would have it, Lucy winds up needing to pool her monetary resources with Zack when her grandmother's house (the house she grew up in) comes back on the market. Lucy and Zack must get to know one another while simultaneously learning to become housemates. Their lifestyles couldn't be more drastically different, and they have A LOT of miscommunication. Can they overcome their many obstacles to have a healthy friendship/roommateship/possibly even more with one another?Author Danielle Owen-Jones sure knows how to write cheeky banter! Part of what makes "Stuck With Him" so successful is the witty nature of the characters. Unfortunately, it's also where she gets into a tiny bit of trouble. Some of the banter comes off as unnecessarily aggressive as Lucy and Zack have one miscommunication after another. I have a hunch this may rub some readers the wrong way. If they had just had a frank, blatant conversation instead of just assuming what was going on, their issues might have gotten fixed sooner, allowing them to enjoy each other's company as flatmates, friends, and/or potential lovers. Because of their lack of communication, they never feel like they are on the same page, so the chemistry doesn't really pick up until the last third of the book. On another note, I gotta say, I *hated* Katie as a character. If you have a friend like her, ghost immediately. Some people may say Lucy is an unrealistically written character, to which I vehemently disagree. I've *known* *real people* like Lucy, outrageous workaholics who cannot stop for one minute to enjoy life without checking their email (much to the chagrin of their friends and family). Others may not be able to suspend their disbelief that Zach and Lucy bought a house together without knowing one another first, to which I say: have you SEEN the state of the economy?! Strangers things have happened in romance novels...this isn't that far of a stretch!I enjoyed this book. It's a cute, fun, mostly easygoing read (so long as you're not a workaholic like Lucy..but I doubt you're reading, you're probably just working). It is a closed-door romance, so if you're looking for something steamier, this likely won't satisfy you.

Fast fluffy read
“Stuck With Him” by Danielle Owen-Jones takes a standard trope (not really liking each other but eventually move onto something more) but puts an interesting twist on it - what happens when the home you’ve pined for is just out of your reach, but a proposal of purchasing the house together - and being both co-owners and housemates - sounds like a good idea? I liked the twist that Ms. Owen-Jones had as it seemed like opposites really did attract in this book. I had two issues with this book, though. As my partner would say “Lucy needs new friends” - what happened at the hen do I found crazy (even factoring in lots of alcohol) and the part with the pool and computer - no - Lucy, you need new friends. To me it wan’t funny and it wasn’t sending a reality check - it was mean girl times 100. As for the “twist” with the CEO - there had to be conflict, there was, but because so little time was spent on the CEO, for me it was more like a little speed bump in the story - not a twist (plus, no real character development). I cannot say that I laughed out loud, as the publisher’s blurb says, but for a light fluffy read - and miscommunication abounding - it was a fine book. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

Sweet, funny rom-com
After a drunken mistake that practically destroyed her interior design business, Lucy is in no way ready to buy her childhood home when it becomes available. But neither can she let it go to her hot yoga nemesis, Zack, who gets way too much enjoyment out of humiliating her in class. When he suggests buying the house together, she sees it's the only way, but she's still not ready to admit defeat. Maybe her rules and lists will drive him so crazy that he'll give up and move out. She a crazy workaholic with her eye always on the clock, while he's laidback and go-with-the-flow. Do opposites attract or will they finally drive each other insane? The whole arrangement of buying a house together was completely unrealistic, but the story was cute. His zen attitude helped Lucy to mellow out a bit and he learned to be more responsible. All the misunderstandings after they moved in together were funny. I received an advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Stuck with him
The storyLucy is an interior designer with her own business living in Liverpool. She works hard, sometimes too hard, and her friends don’t really understand or support her. When a terribly true email is sent to her client list and her business takes a nose dive, she is devastated. It doesn’t help that when her childhood home goes on the market, Lucy has a deposit to buy the house but doesn’t qualify for the mortgage. Enter Zach, basically a stranger and her yoga instructor offering a plan.My thoughtsA lot of criticism of this story focuses on the unlikeable characters- Lucy’s friend Katie, Lucy herself. I think this fits with author’s style of writing. Flawed and messy characters, love interests that definitely don’t make for perfect HEA’s and a sort of deprecating sense of humour. I enjoyed the story and the writing, the messy living together with mix ups and disasters. A fun read for me!I read an eARC copy courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher.

Slow starter but worth it in the end.
I struggled to push through to start with, it seemed like nothing hooked me in and made me want to keep reading. But then it finally turned a corner, garnered my interest and led to some hilariously funny scenes that really had me laughing, loudly. I'm really glad I persevered. This romantic comedy is mostly about finding balance in your life, and not being overly obsessed about work and career, learning to enjoy life instead of rushing to reach the end.
