Sashco Big Stretch Acrylic Latex High Performance Caulking Sealant, 10.5 Ounce Cartridge, White (Pack of 12)

I replaced the lap siding on my house last year and we used 4 cases of Big Stretch White to seal the exposed seams. It applies and is workable as you would expect with any caulk and it was as easy as any other. Filling gaps as wide as 1/2" (possibly more) in one pass was uneventful. + Ability to take paint - Where this stuff really excels is in its ability to take paint. This isn't silicone so its not like its prone to paint failure but Big Stretch doesn't seem to expand and contract in a way that makes the paint chip or crack over time. I have no idea how they manage that, but the painted caulk on my house has held up extremely well. + Bulging and shrinking - I live in a desert so its very hot in the summer and very cold and snowy in the winter. Even with extreme temperatures in the summer Big Stretch doesn't bulge or shrink. The same in sub zero temperatures. I wasn't going to review caulk but this stuff is truly impressive. If you used a lot of caulk in your life and you've struggled haveing to come back over and over to reapply due to shrinking, particularly on exteriors surfaces. This is by far the best product I have ever come across and I have laid plenty caulk (no pun intended!) Sure you can by twice as much cheap caulk for the price but how much is your time worth? Do you really want to be reapplying caulk every year and then touching up the paint.

By far the best and long lasting paintable (non-silicone) caulk I have ever used. If there is a brand that stays as flexible and resists shrinking better than Big Stretch, I have yet to find it. Of course I have stopped looking, and as long as the price stays reasonable, this will be my go to for the rest of my life. Really holds paint well and over the long haul!

This stuff is excellent. We used it to cover recessed screw heads on our hardy board siding and after paint you can't see the faster heads. Easy to work with, cleans up easy with water. There is a small amount of shrinkage so over fill the the area. Let dry and trim with a sharp razor blade. It will look amazing! The price was much lower on Amazon than in the big box store.

Best caulk for acoustic and soundproofing sealing out of the 5 suggested brands that I tried. Retains elasticity with a soft rubbery feel when completely cured which was ideal for acoustically sealing air gaps and seams in my recording studio. I used it in the seams of each drywall sheet, around all doors and windows, and along all corner ceiling and floor seams. Used about 16 tubes for a 12x16 room (w/ double drywall layer) It was squishy enough to apply along the concrete floor first, allow to dry, then fit over it tight sections of drywall where the wall meets the floor. Very minimal shrinkage as it dries, I only had to touch up a few spots where I'd gone a little fast during application. Fills fairly wide gaps, and is soft enough to force into narrow deep gaps. A great product for acoustic soundproofing applications, much more cost effective than the green competitor. Just remember, more is better and leave no gaps at all for best results.

Love this caulk, use it everywhere in the interior of my home. Doesn't crack with seasonal temperature shift and wood expansion/contraction. I never saw the point of putting all the effort into using cheap caulk like Alex you have to redo. The additional cost of the caulk is irrelevant compared to the labor. If you apply it in cracks and the wood expands you may get squeeze out but that it expected. Paintable, but dries very slowly--best to wait to paint until the next day.
