Required for MBA, but actually helpful
I was not expecting to find this book very helpful, but it surprised me. It's shockingly quite an engaging book

Insights you can apply...
It's necessarily written at a high level so the concepts apply across industries, but the advice is good and forces you to step away from the details and think about how your operations help you win in the market. Good stuff!

The book to make an average SC manager, but not an exceptional strategist
Very topical treatment of a very important subject, Book would benefit from editing and forego the practice of writing it in the second person. Too many "you" and "your" words slow down and distract the reader. I was expecting few quantitative analysis procedures and metrics to be discussed and possibly some templates which the reader could use in evaluating a business. While the title claims strategic management, the book barely scrapes the surface of strategic management, instead it offers some very basic concepts. Applying the ideas expressed in this book will make an average strategist, at best. To become exceptional, the reader must find other books.

Have worked with PRTM & PwC Consultancies who use this as their model & it works & have deployed since in with other clients. Worth getting the SCOR books too as they work hand in hand.

If your in Supply Chain or starting out; get this. Just wish is was a bit less 'manufacturing sector' centric; would prefer more reference or examples in the Energy, Utilities Sectors.
