Who knew that garage door sensors degraded over time?
Who knew that garage door sensors degraded over time? My 13-year-old Liftmaster garage door opener became more and more difficult to use in daylight over the last few years. Recently the sensors would trigger even in overcast weather conditions. Shades didn't help. I bought these replacement sensors, and they installed in just a few minutes. The garage door closes all the time now! Amazing. The system works like new. These sensors were a bargain and fixed a super annoying issue.

Works with a 90s Craftsman opener
Was pleasantly surprised! Because of another review on here, I decided I would try these out. I've been fighting with my 1998 Sears Craftsman garage door opener the last couple weeks. It hasn't been used in 20 years, and apparently age creeps up. Garage door had the dreaded 10 light blinks and wouldn't go down without holding the wall button. Discovered I had no voltage to the sensors. Replaced logic board. Gained voltage to the sensors! Still nothing. So, finally, I replaced the sensors with these. There were lights! And a working garage door! The fisheye lens on the receiving eye is nice too compared to the old ones. The sending sensor can be angled pretty far off before the receiving sensor can't recognize it; so it doesn't have to be perfectly straight.

Garage door sensors
"A Modern Day Alignment Torture Device That Eventually Works" Look, if you're buying this 41A5034 Safety Sensor Kit, congratulations—you've just signed up for the garage door equivalent of performing microsurgery while wearing oven mitts. The alignment process? Oh, it's delightful. You'll spend 45 minutes crouched in an awkward position that would make a yoga instructor weep, squinting at two tiny LED lights that seem to have the temperament of a moody teenager. "Is it green? Is it orange? Is it... blinking? WHY IS IT BLINKING?" You'll adjust the bracket a millimeter to the left—dead. A millimeter to the right—also dead. You'll contemplate your life choices. You'll question why garage doors need safety sensors in the first place. You'll definitely say words that would make your mother blush. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER: Once you finally achieve that perfect, mystical alignment—that sacred geometry where both LEDs glow steady green like the promise of a better tomorrow? It works. Flawlessly. Every single time. Your garage door will open and close with the obedient reliability of a well-trained golden retriever. You'll stand there, dust on your knees, sweat on your brow, and feel an irrational surge of pride that you actually defeated this tiny plastic adversary. So yeah, 4 stars. Docked one star for the emotional trauma, but added four back because somehow, inexplicably, it actually does its job once you survive the installation equivalent of the Odyssey. Would I recommend it? Only if you have patience, a flashlight, and a healthy relationship with your chiropractor. P.S. — The "safety" part is ironic because the most dangerous thing during installation was my own frustration.

Good product
Delivered as described. Easy to install (I spliced the sensor wires (and used the supplied connectors) with the existing wires that were already stapled around the garage door frame from the garage door motor-they work as expected. These replaced my old and defective/worn out 9 year old LIftmaster sensors and are cost effective.
