I’m extremely impressed with the WD Black SN850X 2TB NVMe SSD with Heatsink and would happily give it five stars. This drive delivers outstanding performance and has been a fantastic upgrade for my PC, providing incredibly fast loading times, smooth operation, and plenty of storage space for games, applications, and large files.Installation was straightforward, and the M.2 2280 form factor fits perfectly into compatible systems. The included heatsink is a great addition, helping with heat management during demanding tasks and giving extra confidence when using the drive for extended gaming sessions or heavy workloads. Once installed, the difference in speed compared with a traditional hard drive or older SSD was immediately noticeable. The read and write performance is excellent, making everything feel much more responsive, from launching games to transferring large files. The 2TB capacity is also ideal, offering enough room for a large game library and important software without constantly needing to manage storage space. The build quality feels premium, as expected from WD Black products, and the drive has performed reliably with no issues. Overall, the SN850X is a high-performance SSD that combines speed, capacity, and reliability in one excellent package.I would definitely recommend this SSD to gamers, content creators, or anyone looking to significantly improve their system performance. It is a superb upgrade and easily deserves five stars!

I bought this for my 825gb ps5 since I needed extra storage. I had never installed anything like this before buying but it was really easy and YouTube tutorials also helped to install and mount it. I have never experienced any problems with it so I’d say it’s very good in terms of cooling and the read/write speeds are very good. I’d say the price is worth it especially if you need storage and don’t want to delete anything.

I installed the WD Black SN850X 2TB NVMe as an upgrade expecting a noticeable jump in speed. On paper it’s extremely fast, with advertised read speeds up to around 7,300 MB/s on PCIe 4.0 x4, which puts it right at the top end of Gen4 SSDs.Installation was straightforward and the drive works perfectly. The system recognised it instantly and it performs exactly as expected. That said, incompared to other NVMe drives running in PCIe 4x4 mode. Boot times, program launches, and general desktop use all feel very similar to other decent NVMe SSDs.Where this drive really shines is in benchmarks and large file transfers, where the higher sequential speeds can actually be used. For normal daily use and gaming though, the difference isn’t as dramatic as the specs might suggest.Build quality is excellent, reliability seems solid so far, and it’s clearly a very capable high-end drive.Overall: a very fast SSD and a great upgrade if you want top-tier Gen4 performance — just don’t expect everyday tasks to suddenly feel dramatically faster.

Great amount of storage that’s compatible for a ps5 or ps5 pro. There is no lagging or freezing and the quality of very good. Definitely recommend. I’ve been using this for over 3 years now.

Easy to install. Got this a couple of years ago and it has been error free. Solved the storage problem on my PS5.

This review is for the 4Tb SN850P, heatsink-included version. For starters, cut to the chase and check out the read speed in the photo, as it's blisteringly fast in real-world terms. A lot of people can probably stop reading at this point! Is this product the fastest *possible*? No, but I transferred 300Gb of games in 50 seconds with no issues before, during or after the process: read on for more detail. The fitting process was mildly faffy (have a MAGNETIC Philips #1 screwdriver to hand if you can), but that's a combination of Sony's fault (seriously, 99% of people use this form-factor, why put the spacer in a spot almost nobody will use, meaning almost everyone has to move it?!) and mine (big hands, no magnetic screwdriver in that size).I was a little wary as I got the 4Tb version as 'Used, good as new', saving a lot of cash in the process, but so far it's absolutely fine. Better than fine. Excellent, in fact. If, like I was, you are wavering over whether to get the SN850P (this one) or the SN850X (the newer, Sony-licensed version), for a PS5, stop wondering. Firstly, a lot of online info is out of date: the heat management improvement updates for the X model (Game Mode 2.0) have been applied to the 850P for some time now according to Tom's Hardware.Secondly, while the 850X does have higher theoretical read/write speeds, there's no detectable difference in real-world performance on PS5 (Pro) hardware. In a before-and-after comparison, games with a frame-rate overlay show exactly the same on the built-in storage versus my new SN850P, nor can I detect any difference whatsoever in actual play during demanding games like BG3.If it starts overheating or I get data corruption or gameplay issues, I'll come back and amend this review, but unless and until that occurs it's an exceedingly-rare 5 stars from me.Oh, and - unless you think you'd enjoy fishing a titchy screw out of a fan compartment - buy yourself that screwdriver if you don't already own one.Especially if you have big hands.Trust me on this.___[For the avoidance of doubt, no, I haven't received incentives of any nature for writing this, and no AI tools were used either!]

So far so good. Easy to install. For downloads it’s definitely faster. In terms of faster loading times it’s a matter of seconds so nothing to write home about there.Overall a great product used on a PS5.Prices for memory are going to skyrocket soon because AI data centres. So if you’re thinking of getting one, act fast.

Excelente

I had studied a lot options and this was top choice for obvious reasons. The metrics and performance are as described and this is obviously better than the version officially recommended for PS5.Take this and you'll always smile 😍

Bought this to use with my OG PS5, installation was super straight foward and has been a gamechanger with being able to download and store more games at once. Highly recommend.
