You will need to modify, to correct the alignment. After that, works well with hand drill on 1" galvanized pipe.

It's a Chicom product so don't expect a precision tool. Good luck trying to mount this fixture on a drill press or mill, I opted to drill and tap my lay-out bench for attachment and use a drill motor. Spindle bushings feel like they are full of sand? Only intend to use this to make cleaner cuts on my grandson's bicycle mod projects so I rec'd what I paid for.

I had a very nice tube notcher in the past, this one isn't. Although, for the price, I would probably buy again. It will be mounted full time on drill press number 2, and I feel it will get the job done. A harbor freight type quality. Not near the quality of my previous notcher, but it was also 700.00 you get what you pay for....sometimes

It works but expect to have to work on it before using it. The part that holds the tube is way off center from the hole saw and needs to be shimmed out which requires new bolts and re-tapping the holes as the threads are very poor. Also the rod binds up in the housing for the hole saw and needs to be smoothed out. But it works after all that which is why it got 2 stars and not 1.

Bottom isn't really square. Best to use with a hand drill as it will bind with a drill press. Pretty cheap but it works.

The cradle that holds the tube does not align the tube with the spindle, so the notch would not be centered on the tube. This appears to be due to the "V" cuts in the cradle not being aligned prior to welding. Just poor quality all around. Even the T-handle that secures the tube was not even close to centered. I'm sending the product back.

The first notch we tried to cut with them chewed the teeth right off the hole saw. The hole saws that came with this set were for wood not metal. We compared the teeth to other sets that we had for metal and wood. The teeth were coarser teeth that matched our old wood set. The hole saws may have been bi-metal but weren't for cutting metal tubing.
