I am a complete beginner when it comes to sewing and embroidery. I love to craft and primarily am a beader/bead weaver. I have started experimenting with bead embroidery where I learned the only sewing/embroidery skill I knew prior to this kit - a beaded backstitch.. I was looking for a kit that would give me basic skills with a bunch of different stitches that I could then use in other crafts and not necessarily to do embroidery alone, so I chose this kit. It's exactly what I was hoping it would be. A way to learn and practice stitches that I can use however I want. The kit does seem to come with everything you need. I love that. I haven't had to supply anything at all. I could open the box and go. They seem to be good quality as well. My one slight gripe is with the instructions. I don't always find them as clear as I would like. For example, it obviously wants you to choose a needle but it doesn't give you a ton of information about the sizes of needles included and which one to start with. I ended up taking a picture of the needle pack and asking AI. For the fellow complete beginners, the needles are sizes 1-5. The longer and thicker the needle the larger size it is, so 5 is the longest (they're in the middle). I found that using a 3 or 4 was about right. I also had a similar issue with the floss. You're taught to separate the floss, but not how many strands to use. If you eventually flip through the back of the instruction book, it says to see everything with 3 strands. I wish the instructions had been clearer and the videos had audio. For the first few easier stitches, not having audio is fine. But for the more complicated ones, I could see myself wanting the explicit instruction. However, it does label each stitch so I know what to look for. Other than the challenges with the instructions, I really love this kit. It was fun to practice my running stitch both on the hoop and off and learn new skills. I can't wait to learn more stitches and then put them to use! A great product for a complete beginner. Fabulous if you are wanting to just learn stitches - probably not great if you want to do some kind of project to apply them. But it's exactly what I wanted. Completely recommend this kit as long as you know the instructions might be a little vague at times.

I bought this kit as I wanted to see whether embroidery was for me as well as get some practice with a few of the basic stitches. As the kit says, it includes everything you need to get started - an embroidery hoop, scissors, a needle threader, a seam ripper, four needles, four cloths with printing, and a LOT of embroidery floss (I ended up with a fair amount extra of each color.) None of the stuff is super high quality...which is expected for a $20 kit. (I suspect that I'm going to replace the scissors and hoop at some point since, y'know, why not?) But it does have EVERYTHING. The instructions were clear and also included links to videos that I could watch if I was having trouble with a stitch (@#$# french knots, @#$#). So that was helpful and useful. I also liked that there was a fair range of stitches (I think they said 29, but three were repeats) included, so I felt like I learned a lot. The instructions also clarified when someone might use one type vs. another. I also liked that, once I'd finished them, I had them "saved" on cloth to reference. My embroidery, of course, didn't turn out as good as featured in the pictures...which wasn't unexpected. (I mean, I'm a total amateur.) But I think I did okay. Regardless, if embroidery is something you're interested in trying, I feel like this kit is a good value for money, easy to follow, and pretty helpful. So definitely recommended.

I sewed for years but never learned the embroidery stiches I so admired. These simple pieces are for beginners...you don't need any experience....and this came with all the supplies needed. The colors were spot on, and the instructions were very clear. I am finishing them up for holiday gifts because they're a handmade treasure and just lovely.

This starter kit was great! Really easy to understand the instructions and I did use the YouTube tutorials a few times to help. You get a set of needles and a lot of thread. I will say the needle threader did break after a few times of using it. Otherwise, a really great starter kit.

So glad I purchased this. It comes with comes with everything you need to start embroidery! High quality and organized kit. The instructions are helpful - both the video and the written instructions. Just started the hobby, and I am so happy to work with this and see how I progress.

This kit is amazing! Everything is so well thought out. The step-by-step instructions are accompanied by video tutorials for each stitch (with easy QR codes to get you there). Plenty of material! And, the best part, is the specific techniques they teach you are THE BEST. If you're just beginning your embriodery journey, this is the best place to start.

For the price, this is an excellent way to learn many embroidery stitches. You're provided with both manual explaining the stitches and QR codes to find demonstrations on YouTube. If you're curious about learning this hobby, this is a great place to start.

The kit had everything as advertised. The scissors aren't heavy duty...sharp, yes, but the finger holes easily overlap eachother. There is also a lot of assumed knowledge in this kit. For example: there are several sized needles and the instructions say to pick one based on the number of threads you have. That's it. For someone who has literally only put buttons back on a shirt with what ever needles were left in grandma's cookie tin sewing kit....that's not helpful. Also the instructions say things like '1 out' and '2 in'...nothing more. For a complete beginner I had no idea what this meant. So, I went to the videos hoping they would explain more than the print. Nope....it's an automated voice repeating the exact same instructions in the booklet. Atleast I could see how they were doing it to figure out what in and out meant. Another example: the instructions say 'keep the working stitch above'. Nothing more. Not super helpful. Watched the video and figured it out after rewatching it. The instructions are very simple, not in a good way, for a product claiming to be 'for beginners'. I'll ne doing quite a bit of other research to troubleshoot things and learn more because this product doesn't offer it.

I have received the wrong embroidery fabrics. Instead of embroidery fabrics 1, 2, 3 and 4, I have received no “embroidery stitches-1”, and instead received two of the “embroidery stitches-4”. There is no contact information so not sure what to do. Purchased this product on the 26th of Jan 2025.

The Bradove beginners kit is absolutely fantastic. I am definitely a beginner and knew nothing aside from threading the needle. The booklet and tutorial videos (available via qr codes) provide you with basic and easy to understand instructions while the kit provides you with everything you’ll need to get started. I was a little apprehensive as I’m hopeless at sewing but this has been brilliant and really boosted my confidence and after competing the first pattern of stitches, am looking forward to learning the others. If I can learn via this kit, anyone can! The price is fantastic too! I’d recommend it whole heartedly.
