Hello, the product has a one year shelf life on unopened container as long as it is stored correctly.

Q: can it pass xrf testing?

Q: how to use on the out side wood do you power wash frist

Treat ECOBOND®LBP, LEAD DEFENDER® as you would any other water based Latex Paint application. Having said that, if applying over any surface that has been painted over with lead paint we always suggest using lead safe practice rules as well. Those peeling or flaking areas are also great to use ECOBOND®LBP, LEAD DEFENDER® on prior to any surface prep as it suppresses lead dust particulates in addition to rendering lead waste as non hazardous for disposal. You would then go back over the surface once prepped using ECOBOND®LBP, LEAD DEFENDER® as a leave on application to seal and treat any existing lead paint. Q: We’ve painted two rooms so far with this paint. It looks great until it dries and then it cracks and flakes off. Any ideas to avoid this?

Thank you for your question. This can be avoided with the necessary prep work that most paints require prior to applying a primer and or finish coat. When existing failing applications are then covered over with an additional coating, many times can be confused with the new paint as not performing. The new application is required to have clean, no dirt, no oils, peeling, flaking, chipping, and in many cases gloss applications prepped to allow for proper adhesion.
