Aleene's Spray Finish 6oz Acrylic Sealer, 6 Ounce (Pack of 1), Clear-Matte

Love this stuff! Works amazingly to seal my paintings of all sorts of mediums whether it’s oil pastels, watercolor or acrylics! So easy to use, consistent product & coverage. Great product

This spray is the final whisper in your crafting ritual. It dries fast, seals well, and doesn’t yellow—like a protective spell over your work. The nozzle’s fine mist is forgiving, and the finish is smooth without being too glossy. Great for sealing paper, stickers, or mixed media pieces that need to endure time and touch.

Strong smelling, but very durable sealant. Used them on stone coasters that I laser engraved.

I sprayed a (probably) porous chalkboard on both sides with this sealant. I used seven thin-to-moderate coats on the front and three on the back. I waited about 15-30 minutes between coats because I wanted to extra careful about drying. Also wiped them in-between coats with a microfiber cloth to pick up any dust. (Note: once I accidentally forgot about wiping dust off the chalkboard before spraying and some dust or fuzz or something got trapped in the sealant. I decided to try and strip it all off with some isopropyl alcohol and start over. I wasn't able to do it perfectly but it worked better than I'd expected. You can still tell where I messed up, but only if you look very closely.) After 12+ hours of curing the chalkboard I tested the side with three coats with a white chalk marker. I drew a little heart in one corner and let it dry for a few hours. That wiped off easily with a bit of water and didn't seem to leave anything behind. Then I drew another little heart and let it dry for 12-24 hours. When I tried to wipe this one off with a damp rag there was a very faint shadow left behind. It wasn't white, but it was a different sort of black than the surrounding chalkboard. tl;dr I used Aleene's to try and make a porous chalkboard more non-porous. It didn't work perfectly but it's quite good / good enough for my purposes. Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase. Oh also: the fumes are pretty strong, so try to do all your spraying in a well-ventilated area. EDIT 01/09/2022 (about 3 months later): I wrote a to-do list on the blackboard that was sprayed with Aleene's and left it up for a few weeks (possibly a month?) before trying to erase it. It didn't budge. I'm not sure whether it was the chalk marker's fault or whether it was Aleene's (or both?) but eventually I had to use a Mr. Clean magic eraser and scrubby sponge with soap. Neither worked as well as I would've liked and the sponge seems to have scratched up the sealant. I would not buy this product again, at least not for sealing chalkboards.

This came in very handy for an art project where we were using acrylic pens, and needed the product to stay put. The spray can functions very well without clogging up dry is very quickly. Definitely need to use this outside or well ventilated area..

Shimmer

I've used this on various crafts with succes. It really sprays on even and dries flat without any additional textures or lines. I typically add more than one layer, up to 3-4/project to add some durability and protection. It has a VERY strong smell, as in only use this outside far enough away from your house because you can still smell it if you're too close.

Good sealer for some projects. Didn't hold up as well or as long as I hoped for my masks paint.

Ho utilizzato questo prodotto per "sigillare e proteggere" miniature e gli elementi scenici che creo per hobby. Sono molto soddisfatto. Risulta opaco e non ingiallisce. Funziona al meglio dando 2-3 passate leggere.

People who're searching for a Sculpture Coating Spray can stop here. ▶Like you I was looking for a good Spray at a fair price. I got this and it really does rhe job. After 2 coats of spray the Sculpture looks like polished so you can visually see it working. (See Attached Pictures) ▶Also there were no faulty tips and the spray spread was even. ▶For all artists aout there, i think this is a good buy definitely.

This is a very good product which I use for sealing and stiffening my quilling projects, which make them more secure when I embellish cards with them. Nearly always use with my quilling projects.
