The former version “Refill for gel ink pens Gelion 39” is marked 0.4 mm which is the LINE WIDTH. The new version “Refill Gelion+ 0.7” is marked 0.7 mm which is the BALL DIAMETER. The ball diameter of 0.7 mm equates to the line width 0.4 mm. Schneider decided to indicate the ball diameter instead of line width, as this is common practice for gel ink refills/pens. Hope it clarified

Will this write on plastic?

Not on on plastic soda bottle but yes on a plastic bag - but it won't hold to the plastic so it will smudge and wipe off with the slightest of touches.

I believe it is the standard Parker size.
