Upto what height the bottom of the laptop screen be raised with this stand?

The laptop can be raised a maximum of 145 mm.

Do I need to open it all the way or partial opening would work as full opening would block my fans. How stable is it at partial opening?

Recommend opening the stand all the way for the most stable use. The stand frame is thin, and made of aluminum so will act like a heat sink as well.
