Ugly and tacky, but effective as all get out. We had a leak in our kitchen wall and so there were damp areas (that are now being repaired). The moisture apparently encouraged fruit flies and other tiny winged beasties. After trying to control them with various chemical means, we just gave up and got these fly strips. Since they don't have any chemicals meant to attract flies, I was a bit skeptical at first. I was proved wrong. We hung one at each window and were collecting a dozen or two unwanted guests on each one every day. Even after two or more weeks, these remain unbelievably sticky. It's hard to take them down and throw them away. They are fairly easy to put up, but the little hanger loops tend to get pretty sticky as well. Just having two of these in the kitchen probably got rid of 90% of the flies within days.

This product is AMAZING! Our house was taken over by flies out of no where in the living room kitchen and basement and we hung about 4-5 of these strips and they were gone within 2 days! Absolutely no flies. The only con would be that they fall down unless you tape them really good. It would be nice if they came with some kind of hook. I definitely will be buying again if we run into the same issue opening our doors to let our dogs out!

I left my initial review asterisked below. I complained about the ease of use (or lack thereof) and it's effectiveness. Over time, the traps did catch some bugs, but I figured out a nice trick-If you install these near a bright light source, the bugs fly right into it. These traps are very sticky, so once they get stuck to it, they're stuck for good. The stickiness is also a double-edged sword. As it is still difficult to unroll these. You need to do it patiently and slowly, or else you will rip the trap. Once I left my review, the manufacturer actually reached out to me and offered to correct the issue. I feel like that is an upstanding move on their part for actively reading customer reviews and reaching out to them. Are they the best traps? No, but they also are priced accordingly. And pairing these up with a bright light source, they do work. But if that's not an option, I can see how these can be frustrating to use. *I have four of them placed throughout my house. Two alone are in the basement where the majority of bugs fly and hangout. Not a single trap has caught anything. They have no scent to them, I'm not sure what they do to "attract" the insects to them. Instead, you just hope that you place these in the random flight path of the bugs and catch them out of pure luck. On top of them not trapping anything, they are insanely tacky. I understand this is great to an extent, once a bug is caught, it's caught. But trying to open these takes care. If you pull them apart too quickly, they will rip in half. Pull them apart slowly and have to twist as you pull, or the trap will "close in" on itself rendering it useless. The hanging loops are covered in the sticky adhesive, so be prepared to get the glue all over you unless you wear gloves. All in all, they're a waste of money. Money doesn't spend like it used to, so avoid these, and save yours.

The red string that you're suppose to pull from kept ripping off before you unfold the roll. Cant hang it after the string rips and also it gets messy to unfold without the string because this thing is very sticky. The are also some parts of the roll that were not very sticky... but all in all it does work in catching some flies

They work exactly as they should. This time of year, the flies are horrible. It’s oddly rewarding to see these strips full of the annoying flies.

Can't improve the mouse trap as they say. Can't improve the fly tape either.

I put three strips near a Z plant that had a gnat infestation. With a week or so each strip had HUNDREDS of gnats on them. It was actually pretty wild. No more gnats. Just be careful when opening the individual strips. They are very sticky and quite fragile.

I hate having to use these. But with kids and animals, we get so many flies in our house in the summer. They do leave a sticky residue on whatever you hang them up on. But it’s a good exchange for having significantly less flies buzzing around. Overall they catch flies fairly well. I still always have a few that ignore it though. I had one rip as I was opening it, which may have been because I tried to pull it out too quickly. But it still works, just has a rip halfway through the paper. They smell weird in the box and if they’re close to them, but otherwise I can’t smell them unless I’m trying to.
