SEIKO Automatic Solar Dive Watch for Men - Prospex Collection

I have a had a great experience with the Seiko Solar Prospex dive watch since receiving it about a month ago. I was looking for a quality dive watch that is equal parts reliable tool and handsome time piece. I spent a long time looking for exactly what I wanted and I believe this watch meets the criteria. After receiving the watch, I switched it over to a rubber 20mm strap and took it on a spear fishing trip, where it spent 5 hours a day for a week in salt water as deep a 60 feet. Solid luminescence in low light. The screw down crown was water tight and it keeps accurate time without any attention which I can't always say for my considerably more expensive automatic dive watch. It also looks great on the bracelet for more formal occasions. I'm really pleased with this time piece.

I’ve tried a lot of divers in the $200-$400 range, and out of everything this one has been by far my favorite and the most well made. It checks all the boxes for me personally: thin case thickness of 10mm, diameter 42mm, lightweight, 20mm bracelet, solar-powered, screw down crown, buttery smooth bezel that’s easy to turn, red-colored seconds hand with black face, powerful lume, 4 micro adjustments, 200m water resistance, and I could keep going. Only thing I would change is probably take away the red stripe on the crown, but not a big deal. It performs as it should and keeps great time. This is my dream Seiko and I’m glad I finally pulled the trigger!

I normally don't write reviews but this is an exception. This is an excellent time piece. I've had this watch for almost a year now. Except for adjustments to the date, I've not had to touch this watch. It has maintained the time down to the second. In almost a year, it has neither gain or lost a second of time. My research finds that the solar battery is good for 5-10 years. To say I'm please with this watch is an understatement.

Truly a fantastic diver style watch without the winding hassles of an automatic. Bezel is silky smooth, lume is excellent and as long as it gets light, the time is accurate every time you put it on. Adjusting the bracelet was a breeze with a link tool and the micro adjustments on the clasp dial it in to your preferred fit, which for me is slightly loose on the wrist.

I've worn it every day for almost a year and liked it as much as I did on day 1. It's very accurate, dependable, and stylish. It's chunky enough to not be too large or heavy on an average-sized wrist and looks so good. The steel bracelet is meh, but I prefer a rubber one anyway, and after a lot of searching found the Strapcode dot com Straight End Black FKM Rubber one which fits and wears perfectly.

Great watch. I bought both of these watches, the black and the pepsi bezel. I just checked the atomic clock and they haven't lost or gained a second in a week and a half. Great movt. I have a 25-year-old illuminox that would lose almost a minute per day, and I got sick of re setting it every morning plus the illumination is very dim at night. These 2 lume all night plenty bright enough all night long. I had a sieko 30 years ago that I lost somewhere, and it was a great watch too. I have a citizen radio watch in titanium and was going to buy a dive watch from them also but the ones I looked at didn't have a sapphire crystal, these do. That's a must have imo.

Well made, stylish and solid. Love the solar battery. It recharges when exposed to light. No more changing batteries every 3 years or so. The stainless steel band and closure are good. For the money, a great watch if this is your style of watch.

I am fed up with automatics. as a "purist" I have several seiko automatics and another watch that costs 4 times this seiko's price. they lose / gain a minute or two every week. this one just keeps correct time always. it looks great. quality is impressive. no battery replacement required in the near future. love it.
