Good buy, nice variety to add to traditional workbooks
Ordered this as an activity to keep kids engaged and learning outside the non-traditional routes. I’m happy with my order. Some thoughts to share:1. Flash cards have a parent side to instruct parents or older kids on what to do or ask about, and the student side for the child to effectively ask them questions as you work through the cards.2. Rather than try to cover all in one sitting, I plan to use this as a “rewards” or “fun” activity that we do during our study/activity breaks.3. You can also get creative and ask beyond the recommended questions.4. I appreciate that there are a variety of concepts that are being reviewed, and the value us is the ability to use a few of the cards as examples, and continue the conversation while driving or doing house chores. Eg. What do you think comes next after doing the dishes? What shape does this item remind you of? What time is it? How many minutes before the next hour? And I can vary the conversations depending on which child I’m working with.Good buy.

feel like a game
I think these flash cards are a very helpful tool summarizing the concepts a child needs to know to be successful in kindergarten. Contrary to some negative reviews, these are not "test questions to memorize" violating copyrights or whatever the preposterous nonsense the reviewer wrote. You can find the same information by reading through tomes of board of education standards or if you value your time, by purchasing the flashcards. In some way, they can be compared to brainquest or smarty pants or any other flashcards for kids, but these are more entertaining, feel like a game, and encompass so many concepts in such a small box. Good product.

Amazing resource to help teach concepts to little ones
My 2.5 year old son loves these cards. He is learning well ahead of his daycare class and we are always looking for ways to help him learn and understand more, but so many concepts are hard to teach! These cards have whimsical illustrations that engage my son and help me visualize and explain the concept to him. We are not using them for a test, but to really help him learn the concepts - which they do! On the back of each card are several questions to help use the image to reinforce concepts from other cards, so he’s not just memorizing that card and image, he’s learning how to process and apply the concept itself in multiple ways. Now that the cards have better helped me consider how to explain these to him as a parent, we also use those recommended questions to reinforce the concepts in the real world around us as well. :) I am so impressed with them and strongly recommend them (to everyone I talk to as well!).

The Concept Cards Are Great Teaching Tools
As a Kindergarten teacher I created my own concept vocabulary cards, but in order to share with my class I made them rather large. I donated them to some of my college students. I was so happy to see this product and can hardly wait to share them with my granddaughter. In fact, I've ordered an extra one to give as a gift. They are great, colorful, and inviting to look at to a young audience. I've already tried them on someone.

Back to basics on Basics.
TestingMom is really trying hard to make teaching our precious ones as easy as possible. I've used their website and it works great at achieving those objectives for 3.5 year olds and up. I highly recommend that route for the older age group ready for their first big test. For the tougher scenarios, you really need to go back to basics with flash cards and tangible objects. These cards help a bit on their first try at teaching kids basic concepts. If they're ever coming up with a second edition, some more details that delineate the age group for the type of question on the back of the flash card might help parents focus on what is necessary. Overall, it's far better than going at it alone since parents are not the test takers. My first child was easy to set up and practice a little bit daily, but my second one is a disaster trying to even get some of the basics such as sitting still and pointing right. In any event, listen to TestingMom's advice and work on it as closely as possible and don't deviate from it to succeed. My advice is to spend a lot of time and be creative to make this exercise fun. We were one of the very few very lucky ones to have a child pass the test with an almost perfect score and got selected by a lottery to attend one of the few CityWide schools, so we have a foggy idea how much work is needed.

son and I really enjoy these cards
My 4 yo. son and I really enjoy these cards. They are a fun way to introduce and review fundamental concepts of time, space and math as well as promote the child's ability to describe things in increased detail. My son likes the captivating and colorful pictures which help him stay focused and answer the questions. They are so easy to use and can be carried along everywhere. We like to play these cards in the car, at the table during meals, at the beach, or just as a short "break" as we move from the lego station to the train set. Personally, I only wish the questions were on a separate card (rather than on the back of the same card that the child is holding): this would make it easier for me to read the instructions given to the child while he/she holds the card (as he normally takes it off from my hands to watch the pictures more closely). Great learning tool, thank you!

Not challenging enough for 2nd grade
I bought these for my daughter who is going into 2nd grade. We had them for one day, and I returned them the next day. She went through them all in one day because they were way too easy for her. The grade level indicated on the cards is Pre-K to 2nd grade, so I assumed that some of the cards would be at least a little challenging, but they were not challenging enough. If your child is advanced, these cards will not be helpful, but they are colorful and fun for little kids.
