I bought 2 of these and they both arrived sealed but damp. Are they supposed to arrive wet?

Yes, arriving damp is normal. They will get really hard and brittle if they dry out completely. If you don’t use them for months they can dry out in the container. You just have to put them in water to rehydrate them and they’ll be good as new.

Can the towel dry/stay moist in the box? Will it get moldy?

The towel stays damp in the container. We wash it after every use, then squish it dry but still damp. It doesn't get moldy.

What are the dimensions of the carrier fo this towel? Will it fit into a small backpack?

Aprox 6-3/4" long 2-1/2" wide. It will fit in a small back pack
