Fantastic product!
I'm 61, crochet and need more light. This light is PERFECT! I can set the temperature and brightness to exactly what I need even when not crocheting. I love the ability to have it on its dimmest setting and the sepia-tone for just a background light while watching TV. Yes, it's pricey BUT the build and its components are top-quality. Very well packed. You won't regret making the purchase.

CRI and Flicker free light
I just received this lamp today, and I absolutely love it! The packaging was really well thought out—there’s even a base holder included, which made assembly so much easier for me, especially since ladies like me, I don’t have a lot of hand strength. A couple of years ago, I bought a full-spectrum lamp for my daughter, but I now realize it’s not just about brightness; it’s about eye care. This time, I focused on a high CRI and flicker-free lighting. BenQ was what i found—both the technical specs and the design fit my taste so well. The only concern I saw in some reviews was that the joints might loosen over time, so I’ll keep an eye on that. But with BenQ’s reputation, I’m confident their support will be there if needed. If only this lamp has auto brightness adjustment, it would be truly perfect!

Work as need
Work good with brightness. Easy to use just with simple touch. But the connection is pretty easy to fall off.

Does not dim enough. Period.
I waited a long time to write this review. I wanted a floor reading lamp with adjustable K (Kelvin) color temperature as well as dimmability. The only reason I give this lamp 2 stars is that it is built remarkably solidly and is nice looking. I immediately deducted one star from the potential 5 due to price and sourcing, but that's not the focus of this review. My biggest complaint is that it is NOT very *dimmable* - Yes, it does get quite bright, but the *lowest* dim setting is simply way *too* bright. At this point some background about me and lights. When I was a kid in the early to mid 80s, a new toy line called "Go-Bots" came out. My birthday was coming up and I begged and pleaded with my parents that the *only* thing I wanted was Go-Bots. This was long before "Transformers" were a thing and as an aside, Go-Bots were manufactured by Tonka and, while kind of clunky in design compared to the later Transformers (and numerous media marketing ventures including tons of movies), they were also heavier steel and - at the time - a really novel idea for kids' toys. So on my birthday, my parents presented me with about 5 presents (we were solidly lower middle class, so I didn't have high expectations and Go-Bots weren't pricey). I opened the first present and it was a desk lamp with one of those articulating conduit necks and a rotation ON-OFF switch. OK, cool. Next present was a larger swing arm desk lamp with the springs and two segments with a rocker ON-OFF switch. Hmm...it wasn't going this kid's way, at all. Third and fourth gifts were some socks and a shirt or something and then finally my coveted Go-Bot. What did little me do? Skulked off to my room to ponder my terrible luck alone. So what's the effin' point in all this? Well, I became a lamp, lighting, and mood lighting afficionado in the following years, thanks to my parents having the forethought to get me into practical gifts. I only wish I'd taken the guitar lessons seriously. But now I'm really digressing. Anyhow, I wanted a high quality floor lamp with flexible movement and a heavy, solid base with multiple lighting 'temperature' and brightness/dimness options. So I took the plunge with the BenQ. I've had it for I think 2 years now and it stands behind my comfy TV and reading chair (I read e-books, my phone, and regular paper books). But I hardly ever use it because - as stated before - while it can get nice and bright, it just doesn't dim *nearly* enough to be useful as background, ambient or low lighting for an otherwise totally dark room. SOOOO disappointing. And you'd think that in this day and age, and with this type of design, there would be - for lack of a more accurate or reifying term - firmware updates or something. Nah. I'm stuck with a light that is still somewhat 'cool' looking but not only can't it dim down very much, the K (color temp) range is surprisingly lacking. Since by now I've probably written enough to "dox" myself to anyone who knows me and stumbled on this review I might as well go through the "PROs" and "CONs". PROs: * Super high quality materials and components, down to the extra thick power cord. * Very pleasantly tactile control knob. * Firm, yet not *too* firm at all moveable joints. For an idea of "too firm" think about a laptop computer. If the thing is sufficiently large (say 16" screen or larger) and you're not actively wanting a featherweight computer, I consider it an automatic deal breaker if I can't unfold (open) the screen while the laptop sits on a desk or table without lifting the entire chassis up and/or having to use a second hand to keep the chassis down while I lift the screen. Hey, I already said I'm picky and possibly have even spoiled myself. And again, I totally see why this laptop analogy would be meaningless to those people who seek light weight more than solid feel or one-hand opening. * Can get very bright no matter the color temp. Super functional as a work lamp, actually more so than as a reading light for low- to medium-light scenarios. Would make an excellent work bench light. * Easy one-touch actuation or de-actuation. Just tap the ring and it comes on, tap again and it turns off. CONs: * Just cannot get very dim no matter what color temp you're using. As noted, the knob is super cool, but the lowest end setting is far from what anyone might actually call "dim" - They really flubbed this part of the design and it would've been super easy to just increase the range for dimness, but they went the other direction as if many people buying this might be trying to add extra light in a sun filled brightly lit room. Just makes no sense to me. * That ring actuator/de-activator is also super easy to accidentally touch if you're reaching behind yourself or your focus is on a screen (tablet, phone, laptop, e-reader) and the thing turns off. This is another instance of where I think some kind of firmware update (or reprogrammable/installable firmware *at all*) would be helpful. At this price point there needs to be some (even if very slight to keep things simple) level of programmability - again, for lack of better terminology. * Cord length is better than average, but not exactly super long and it doesn't come with any cable management solution (like good straps - or even better a creative cord loop) to reach lengths far from the nearest outlet - OR - to minimize the appearance of cords in your room / on the floor. SUMMARY: Sorry, BenQ, I am in the market for a better solution to low light/dimmability and on top of that, your website is terrible. I get more useful information and larger photos of your products here on Amazon, not to mention the benefit of other customer reviews. I may be in a tiny minority of people that has developed a particular scrutiny for lighting, ambience and such, but the one simple thing that would have *almost* made this a 5-star lamp, even at this price point - and in a world where we are flooded with disposable, garbage, easily breakable junk this had the potential for 4-4.5 stars. Unfortunately what was marketed and reviewed as a super flexible and durable/high quality lighting solution for my needs ended up a disappointment for what seems like almost the dumbest reason imaginable.

Worth every cent, to me.
At first, I thought "What nut would spend this much on a lamp??" But a relative urged me to get it (they have one) and even chipped in. So I ordered the lamp... and have been happily impressed ever since. First, it comes packed like they were shipping some famous painting – I appreciate the effort to protect the product. Then I found assembly to be quite easy, a LOT easier than anything from IKEA. The base is quite heavy, but that's what you want so it doesn't easily tip. Finally, the light is fully adjustable as to color and brightness. I am so pleased with this floor lamp that I plan to go back and buy the desk model as well. Top notch, and worth the price imho.

It's very easy to assemble this floor lamp. The control is also simple enough for anyone to understand it.

So I bit the bullet and got this to use as a light for cross stitching and I'm so disappointed. The light itself is ok. But after a few months of use all the hinges on this stand squeak super loud. I have a new born that sleeps in my room when I use the lamp and any time I need to move it to readjust it wakes him up because the thing is so loud.
