Depends, what kind of finish does the cabinet have currently? Lots of people will use darken wax to give their furniture an antique feel/look. This may be the outcome if you do not strip or sand down the cabinets. If the original finish has faded and wasn’t a lacquer, then the wood should soak it up and darken. Suggestion: test a piece that is hidden other behind something or inside the cabinet.

How many shades does this oil darken the wood? I have freshly sanded white oak & want a deeper brown. Can 2 coats be applied to obtain this?

In my experience, it won't darken more with the second coat. The dark seems to darken over time, but you won't see that much difference between this and the regular oil treatment. It will deepen same as any oil treatment.

Can I apply this over an older application of original odie's oil?

Yes, but it depends on how long since the last application. All finishes similar to Tung Oil and Linseed Oil, which Odie’s has as an ingredient, will require a re application after some time due to evaporation. The amount of evaporation depends on the climate where the piece of wood is stored; dryer and hotter climates will evaporate faster. So, yes you can apply over another coat of Odie’s, just as long as the substrate is willing to soak more of it up.

could this product be used on wood filler? If so is one brand of filler better than another?

Yes, Odies Dark can be used over wood filler, BUT you need to test because the results may not match the surrounding wood. Only testing will give you an accurate assessment.

Super easy to use and looks great, non-toxic

This is a fantastic product. Non-toxic and easy on your hands. Food safe. Makes a very nice even surface on wood. I use this on my kitchen table once or twice a year and it glows. I'm able to put wet glasses on it without making permanent rings

The best wood oil I’ve ever used

This is, by far, the best oil I’ve ever used! It’s easy to apply, easy to wipe off, and it provides a brilliant finish. It even works on raw metal! The only downsides are that you must finish your piece well as it’ll show any imperfections, and it needs 3-5 days to fully cure.
