Overjoyed…
To have read this book. I have never watched a lot of television, so I can I never watched the Oprah Show. But, I certainly know who she is by reputation. May God continue to always walk with her. Great Book. I’m purchasing 2 to give to my daughters in laws.CheersDanni

Read slowly and often - so much wisdom!
Oprah has been one of my heroes since I was a kid (especially after finding out we are the same ENFJ personality type). I always admired her ability to listen and connect with someone and I see that intimacy in each of her interviews even today. This book is a compilation of a column out of the O magazine, called What I Know for Sure. I am sure that it is a great column in the magazine but I can tell you it's better as a collection. My only regret about reading this is that I read it too fast. Most chapters are worth absorbing again because of how thought provoking and profound they are. Oprah manages to always be insightful and instructive by way of her candid openness that prevents her from coming across as preachy or audacious even though she is very spiritual. I needed a lot of her positive energy about the general good that exists (found in the little things) and that how we are all in this together, and there is no "us vs. them." In some ways this book honors its back cover and is very much a fire lighter but at the same time convinces the reader to take time to heal - to aim - before firing the arrow.

The only book that I've read five times, it's that good.
This is a book that inspires me like no other. I've read it five times and plan to read it again. I read one chapter a day to remind me of the important things in life. I love this book, because Oprah is so thoughtful/mindful, enthusiastic, uplifting, encouraging, relatable, and motivating. This book is one that I've bought dozens of and given them aways as gifts. I highly recommend it.

this book confirms every thing I believe - it's a guiding light that I am on the right path in life
I will recommend this book to everyone in my life. I will purchase this book for all the women in my life. I gave this book review 5 stars because it touched on every major point in my life the very belief I held in my heart that took me to the other side of the challenges this book confirmed my heart was on the right path. At all times-during those situations I looked within for the answers and my heart has never failed to protect me. Oprah inspires me to continue on my path and step it up a notch or more. At 53 I removed myself from a 13 year relationship and struggled with at my age a chance to love again is over. Today is six months since I asked him to leave. I now know without a doubt my life is just getting started. This was the perfect book to read and inspire me to continue on with all that I am. I do know this that we are not here to be loved it is to love others - along the way if love finds us as it will, it's a bonus. I realized when I left the love for myself was greater than that dysfunctional relationship. I wake up each day in wonder and an open heart because that is just who I am and I love every fiber of me. Thank you Oprah for the confirmation that my path is mine to create and if a situation doesn't align with all that I am it's ok to walk away.

Listening to this book is WORTH EVERY PENNY and more...
So maybe many of these stories you had heard before if you're a fan of Oprah... but what a joy it is to have it all in one compact place. Much of what she has to say is worth repeating. She ties in her personal experiences with life lessons in a way that is relatable - even though you may have very little in common with Oprah. She pulls out quotes that hit home and help us to make sense of the world from a perspective we maybe never considered before.Listening to this book as opposed to reading it is also quite helpful. I can be on the road or cooking in my kitchen and take in the stories and lessons as I work instead of setting aside reading time (which isn't always easy). I am so thankful that Oprah did the voice over for this book... it is such a joy to hear her relish in the details - adding her own cadence, emphasis, and emotion. I could probably "hear" her voice in my head if I read the words off of the page, but it is so much better to truly hear it from her directly. This audio CD is worth every penny. I need these clever bits of wisdom to ground me and motivate me. I'll be listening to these CDs over and over for many days and many years to come. Thank you Oprah - for doing what you do and for always trying to not only better yourself, but help us to all better ourselves as well.

An uplifting read
My step-mom lent me this book. I wasn't interested in reading it but she really wanted me to so I gave it a try. It's a very uplifting book! I read a bit each morning and it was a great way to start my day. Oprah shares what she has learned through her experiences without being pretentious or sounding like a know-it-all. I have recommended this book to so many people! I bought it as a gift for my daughter as well. I can't wait for her to read it!

An interesting life
I didn’t know much about Oprah Winfrey. I knew that she was one of the most (if not the most) successful black woman on television. I knew that she worked hard to get her production company Harpo. I knew she had won lots of awards and I knew she was generous (YOU GET A CAR) but I didn’t really know anything real about her. I decided to read What I Know for Sure and naively I read it with the knowledge that I just mentions. Now What I Know for Sure is a short book and it is told in small standalone chapters but I learned a lot about Oprah Winfrey and my distant knowledge grew to admiration. This woman has lived, she has lived a difficult life and she has worked so very hard for all the success she has had in her life and she is someone who has earned the right to be revered. What I Know for Sure is a glimpse at Oprah’s life, yes, but it is also a manifesto on how to be positive. I really enjoyed it. What I Know for Sure by Oprah Winfrey is available now.

Rather 'samey'
I love Oprah so I was looking forward to reading some inspiring words of wisdom. Unfortunately, this book didn't quite hit the mark. Don't get me wrong, Oprah's beautiful, warm personality still comes through but each chapter was a bit 'samey'. Basically, Oprah knows for sure that gratitude, being kind to others, the simple things in life and friends & family are the things that bring us the most pleasure. I guess I was hoping for something more insightful and, therefore, I feel a little disappointed.

Profound
I wouldn't know where to begin, at times i cried and I know that's because the spirit within connected to the message. Some of this i knew and needed reminding, other aspects were truly profound. I will read this many times throughout my life to remember, stay grounded, be silent, honour my inner spirit and listen to the self.. that much i know for sure!

A book that gives you a hug and helps you stand up a little straighter in this life
I recently watched a workshop that asked us to pick someone who inspired us and say what their life’s mission might be, I picked Oprah Winfrey and wasn’t really sure why so I bought this book. Firstly the book is beautiful, it’s a smaller size hardback, with a gold ribbon, and it feels special from the moment you pick it up, because of this it would make a wonderful gift. Secondly, it’s filled with love and passion that come out of each written word and just give you a hug. ,OST importantly, this book is filled with gems of wisdom that will help you feel a little better in every moment of your day.

I'm grateful I read this book
I stumbled across this book, it lead me to realise all of the positive things already in my life. It made feel grateful for all the simple things that we take for granted and brought about a sense of contentment and calm. I haven't felt either for a while. It's well worth a read. Jayne x
