Great straight wood Made two boards with it Came out great

Purchased from them before. All the wood comes pre-cut just run them through the jointer and make perfect cutting boards.

Great quality, no boards were warped or twisted. Makes excellent cutting boards/charcuterie boards. The width, length, and thickness of all the boards is fairly consistent. These were necessary for me to make cutting boards as I don’t have access to a planer so I needed flat, surfaced boards out the box which these provided. I was able to get them glued up out of the box without any additional flattening. Color of the boards can be seen above in the pictures I uploaded. Some boards had amazing grain which looked great when applying finish. Will definitely be using Barrington again!

I had high hopes and for the most part they were met… Have been buying cutting board kits from the big stores for a few years… Finally decided to try doing my own design which led me to the Barrington Hardwoods Domestic Variety Pack of Maple, Walnut and Cherry… Wood quality is top notch, finish is also very good and quantity is great.. My issue is that I am having to joint every single piece for being warped on 3/4” sides… 2” sides are fairly flat and finish on all 4 sides was glueable but just couldn’t make myself try… I might try again in the future as boards are boards but was just a little bit disappointed..

Beautiful selection and made great Christmas gifts with minimal effort. Used the wood burning gel and stencils to personalize them, coated with tung oil, and they were a hit! No warping at all.

As advertised, I received 15 boards of three wood species, all dimensionally correct. In general, all of the wood is as about as straight as one could expect. A few are really straight, but most are bowed a bit towards one of the wide faces. One of the cherry boards is bowed toward a narrow edge. None are bowed more than 1/32 across its length (as eyeballed against a straight edge). All within typical woodworking tolerances. Two of the walnut boards have very good appearance, the other three fair. Two of the cherry boards have good appearance, two fair, and the other I would rate as poor. The big problem is that while stated as hard maple in the description, it is not. It simply does not have the appearance or weight of hard maple. All of it is soft maple. And not what I was expecting. There is enough usable wood that I am keeping it versus undertaking the hassle of returning it, but I won't be buying from Barrington Hardwoods again.

As described. It's a bunch of wood in a box. Quality and grain are not bad. For amateurs like me, this does the trick. You can almost certainly get better quality at a lumber yard, but for amateurs like me who are too socially awkward to talk to humans at a real lumber yard, this is great. Not much warping, but a little planing required.
