[2025 Upgraded] BlueStars 340-408 uF MFD 110-125VAC Motor Start Capacitor

Worked great on my Super Hayward 1 HP pool pump. The original run capacitor is rated 50-400 uf. I read up a little and understood that original run capicator when burns out, makes a humming sound but impeller freely rotates when manually spun around. It may help others to know that you are good to go up a notch on microfarad but not down. I ordered the Upgraded Version 340-408 uf 110-125VAC BlueStar capicator. It was easy to install (I took one wire off at a time from old capacitor to make sure all three are similarly placed). BlueStar capacitor was perfectly sized. It seemed to have a better physical construct quality than the original. Btw I am not a super handy kind of guy but this was easy. Run capacitor is only two outside screws and one inside screw away on an Hayward super pump 1HP (gold). This cost me a little research and 13 bucks, replacement took me 10 minutes max —- saving me hundreds in service/ replacement costs! Few days in, it is going strong. Easy, fast reliable start. Would definitely recommend!!

My old Atlas drill press motor suddenly stopped running. It would hum when switched on, and would run once I spun the pulley. Replaced the start cap and all is well now. Quite pleased.

The capacitor worked fine, it's just was smaller than the original capacitors diameter and length that was replaced. I had to make a circular bushing to secure it within the capacitor housing on the motor.

Capacitor blew instantly

I didn't think I had the correct items at first because they are much smaller than what I was replacing. The specs were the same so I got them to"fit" and my compressor works. My only negative comment is that they are advertised to be exact , with a less forgiving application, this could have been a problem. As I said earlier, the specs were correct and they arrived when promised.
