Solved my problems and I'll never have to adjust it again. I was able to take the cover from my Delco regulator and it was a perfect fit for this solid state unit, maintaining the stock appearance.

regulator works perfect
installed this solid state regulator after buying and returning 2 original mechanical regulators I got from NAPA that did not work. This one works perfectly. It charges at constant 14.1 or 14.2 volts regardless of what the load conditions or the RPM of the engine is. I wanted to keep my old classic show car original looking with a mechanical regulator, but can't seem to buy one of those that works. Don't hesitate to buy a solid state regulator. These things out perform a mechanical one hands down.

Broke out of the box
The voltage regulator makes an annoying buzzing sound. I bought this to put on my son’s Ag project which is a tractor restoration project. The buzzing sound is not what you want to hear when being judged.Up date seller made it rightThank you
