Is this an additional controller that I can buy so I can play with two player?

No, it's just the grip to hold the Joy Cons, which can be used as separate controllers. So if you have console, it will have 2 controllers already.

Is this the official comfort grip, i.e. the same one that comes with the box?

Nope! Definitely not. We hunted high and low to find the exact ones that came with the console but we couldn’t find them for sale anywhere. These are quite good though, we’re happy with our purchase. However the red ones are a weird shade of orange/red and do not match the double red colour controllers, we returned and bought 2 black ones. No issues with them so far.
