This product is ready to install right out of the box! Comes with a tight sealing gasket, no plumbers putty required!Fit and finish is very high quality at a fair price. Installation is simple with this product! Take the extra time to remove the old plumbers putty to ensure a tight seal! Place rubber gasket in sink recess and place strainer holder into sink. Under sink place sink cup against sink and secure with nut! Tighten plumbing fittings and you are ready to run the water!

Had one of the original spring clip strainers break after years of use. I replaced it with a non-spring version that was excellent at blocking the outflow. When it came to draining, its peg design tended to rotate in response to the rushing water and cause it to slip into the slot and block the flow, requiring re-setting it. Also, when in the flow position, the gaps at the edges were wide, allowing debris to go through. Since we live with a septic system, that's something we don't want. This one, after much searching, popped into view and its working well. I did not have to modify the spring (I read some others have had to do that). Of course, a spring is a little harder to clean and may not be as sturdy as a single steel rod, but I'm not convinced the earlier replacement peg-design strainer was really steel or, indeed, any particularly strong metal.

High quality easy installation

A very nice stopper and strainer. I especially appreciate the photos with a full set of dimensions. This allowed me to order with confidence that it would actually fit my drain.I expected the all metal construction. The dimensions and fit were what I expected. The pleasant surprise was the stopper! The cross section is "U" shaped, and the material feels like it might be neoprene. This means it is dense, flexible, fits and seals well.In all, I'm very pleased with the accurate description and dimensions, the construction, and the function.

I will be replacing this item with a kitchen sink drain with removable basket, all steel, to keep debris from falling down the drain. We live with a septic tank, and I don't use a disposer, so I want to catch as much of the debris as possible to prevent it going down the drain.This strainer works well to stop up the sink, but getting it to sit evenly without causing stoppage of water is nearly impossible, and we end up having it sit at a slight tilt, so that the water flow is not impeded, but bits of food scraps get by too. I will replace it with a drain and perfectly fitted 1 cut strainer basket, as I have in two other sinks, and my problem with food falling through the crack will be over.Another issue with this strainer is that it is sharp. I cut my index finger on it when I first got it, as I was handling it, and brushed my fingers across the bottom to see how smooth the surface was. Don't try it. You may get hurt as I did.

Very good quality sink drain assembly, much better than the one it replaced. Comes with a rubber gasket that fits under the lip in the sink so you don't have to use plumber's putty. Included too are tailpiece gasket and brass nut, nice touch, much appreciated.NOTE: The basket was deeper on this than the one being replaced so I had to shorten the tailpiece by about 3/4" to maintain proper pitch of the sink drain pipe.Would also recommend that you use silicone sealant to lightly coat both sides of the rubber gasket (and let dry for a while after tightening) for a leak proof installation.**IMPORTANT** I did not buy/install the DEEP model with the extra removable strainer basket, the model I bought was more shallow. My review was for the more shallow model but was lumped in afterward to the reviews for the DEEP model (why?), I cannot vouch for the quality of the DEEP model.

Replaced my old kitchen sink stoppers that were more than 20 years old.Fits the sink drain easily, so the water does not leak down the drain. The stopper is mostly metal, I guess stainless steel, except for a rubber gasket that seals onto the drain opening. Vendor delivered item on time. The metal is a bit thinner than my original sink stoppers, but it does the job.

Good product. I needed to adjust/widen the lower part (“the spring”) of the stoppers with some pliers to get them to snap properly into my drains. But they work great now.
