3M Perfect-It Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax, 36111, 1 Gallon, One-Step Process, Removes Scratches and Swirls, Light Oxidation Remover for Boats and RVs

We love this product and have ordered it many times, along with other 3M products in this line (Perfect-it Gelcoat). However, for some reason there isn’t a seal on the inside of the lid, as there are for so many liquid products…. This means that unless the seller tapes the lid shut and/or puts the whole thing in a sturdy plastic bag, and then tapes the bag shut, it can easily leak out during shipment. When I cleaned the lid I noticed that the lid itself was slightly faulty - it didn’t click shut evenly on both sides, but even if it had been a perfect lid, it still needed to be taped down at the very least. Luckily we didn’t loose too much of the product, and it didn’t leak through to the outside of the box, possibly damaging surfaces it comes into contact with. We’ve had this issue before with MANY products we use detailing boats. That’s always a risk when something is being shipped to you - most of the time we’ve received this brand they are taped shut. This instance just demonstrates how important that extra step is.

I cut this product 50/50 with a (liquid) carnauba wax and used a 6 inch dual action buffer with a pad designed to be a very low degree of agressiveness. It shined the colored gel coat on y boat to look just as good as new. My boat had sat in salt water for over 4 years and was highly oxidized. This product was perfect in bringing the original shine back. Absolutely thrilled with the outcome.
