Not quite effective enough for how it felt (or looked)
I kind of feel bad with this review, because I just put this product to the ultimate test. I concocted a mountain day on the continental divide so circuitous as to provide me with a sun-up to sun-down mountain scrambling adventure, COMPLETELY above treeline. I am not exaggerating when I say I didn’t walk past a tree all day. I ascended 3 13,000ft peaks, went back up one three times three different ways, went up and down the main route of a 14,000ftpeak, and back up an alternate route. I re-applied the sun stick frequently, since I took videos at each peak and noticed missing spots. It felt heavy and noticeable on my face. I’m still a little bit sunburned, more than I thought I would be. I also think the area under my sunglasses feels kinda sore or something, like my skin didn’t like having it on there. I guess I expected more, since the concept of a zinc oxide face stick seemed to be the gold standard recommendation on Reddit. Overall, for something of that nature, I would have preferred something lighter and more resilient to smearing. I think I usually get better results from sweatproof 50. It’s only one big day, but that’s my takeaway.

Good + creamy but half empty
The first thing that stood out to me was the creamy texture and ease of application. I have previously purchased the Bare Republic neon sunscreen stick which was very hard and difficult to apply. I applied it heavily on one side to see how well it would cover my melasma and was really pleased. The only thing I don't like is how small this product is. When you pick it up it feels very light and that is because the tube only comes half filled. As much as I like it it is prohibitively expensive to continue to buy this. If it was half the price it would be a staple for me since I need to cover up daily.
