Don't like him don't read it. It seems simple to me.
I have never been a religious person even though I was raised Roman Catholic. I read mostly positive reviews for this book but those who rated it less than favorably are in my opinion, missing something vital here (especially when it comes to the now infamous GQ interview). That's tolerance. One of the greatest things about being an American is that we are a free people. We are free to practice or not practice any religion we choose. We have freedom of speech. While I may personally disagree on certain hot topics in this book, I absolutely believe that Phil is not one to pass judgement as he believes that's not up to him. Frankly, it's not up to any of us to judge another. You simply don't know what they've been through. The bible is what he believes to be true with his whole heart. Guess what? He's an American and he's entitled to believe that! You don't have to like him. You don't have to agree with him. Or anyone else on this planet for that matter. But he has that right. The same as we all do because we are citizens of this great nation. If you disagree with his viewpoint and the blueprint to life he's choosing to live by, that's his choice, not ours. It So it begs the question: why let it consume you? You too are free to go about your life as you choose. It's an unalienable right we all have. Hate breeds hate. You're just as bad as you think he is by being intolerant of his beliefs just as you believe he's intolerant of yours. But this much cannot be ignored. This is a brutally honest book written by a brave man in that he is passionate in his faith and isn't afraid to admit it. It makes you think and for me, reevaluate my own thoughts on politics, religion and my own fears about taking the road less traveled in life. I'm of the opinion that we all need something to believe in, whatever it may be for each of us. I thought this book was refreshing because it was honest, and honesty is something I definitely respect and agree with!

One man's bold and unapologetic attempt to save his country and its people
As someone who *does* own this book and *has* read it, and more importantly, as a worshiper and servant of Jesus, I see Mr. Robertson as my brother and fellow servant in Christ. I agree with the majority of his philosophy, not because it is his, but because it derives from Scripture. People may, and obviously have, disagreed with the things Mr. Robertson has said and written, but if that philosophy and world view derives from Scripture, which both he and I consider to be the final authority in faith and practice, your disagreement is not ultimately with him, but with Him with whom we have to do. The ideas Mr. Robertson describes in this book are not new, but rather a reminder of the original and first principles upon which this country was founded, and upon which this country may be restored. Don't read this book thinking that Mr. Robertson has compromised or changed his personal convictions. He hasn't. Most people, I would imagine, have heard of Mr. Robertson and his extremely unpopular convictions, so you should know by now what you are going to get reading this book. I personally recommend reading all the books written by his family. I applaud Mr. Robertson for having the courage and compassion to share his convictions and his heart with the desire to restore this country to the greatness it once knew, and can know again."...We have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."--John Adams, Letter to the Officers of the First Brigade of the Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts, 11 October 1798

P-H-I-L : The Way He Wrote It!
Here's a catchy acronym (I call it catchy) P- is for Plainspoken, H-is for Honest and Humble, I - is for Integrity, L -is for Love God and Love Your Neighbor. That sums up Phil Robertson, in my opinion, and sums up this great new book!If you're reading unPHILtered, you are probably in one of the following categories: A die hard fan of the Duck Dynasty and the Robertson family, an avid duck hunter, a long-time committed Christian, a curious Christian new to the faith, a curious nonbeliever, or a big meanie who wants to call everything associated with Phil "hate" and "bigotry".He spells it out for you. I don't know how he could possibly be more plainspoken than he is in this book. If you are disagreeing with the views of Phil Robertson, you are disagreeing with Jesus Christ (for the most part~ I do realize that Christians don't have to agree on every single theological point in order to hang together) Phil provides Scripture to back up every opinion and view in this book. If you don't believe that, then get out your Bible. The Bible tells us to test doctrines that are preached, and not just accept someone's word. For those of you who are still calling "hatred" and "bigotry", you might want to examine your own heart. Phil preaches "Love God. Love Your Neighbor". My pastor offers a third point, "Tell Your Story". And that is exactly what Phil does here, telling his story exceedingly well!

Amazing book
Contrary to the title, this isn't a book about Phil, it is a book about Jesus. Every point Phil makes is backed up by scripture so that we know that this isn't Phil telling us how we should live, it's Jesus telling us.5/5 stars. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to know about how we should be looking at current events in the US through the lens of the bible. However, if you lean more to the liberal side of the spectrum, prepare to be offended ;)

Inspiring Read!
No secrets here. God bless Phil for his love of humanity, the truth and Christian living. This second book written by Phil is focused and clear, with generous references to scripture and the truth as he sees it based on the Gospel. It is comforting and awe inspiring that this man is unfettered by political correctness, social pressures, the trappings of wealth and is willing to follow the Truth as he sees it. Wonderful stuff.

Très bien
Très simple à comprendre, très direct, très honnête par rapport aux positions exprimées. Témoignage d'un homme converti qui espère donner le Bon Dieu au monde pour que le monde tourne mieux. Il n'impose pas, mais propose. Inspirant.
