NEW Review: POLTERGEIST: THE LEGACY - GETS FULL DVD SERIES RELEASE IT DESERVES FROM VISUAL ENTERTAINMENT INCORPORATED - I donโt usually write product reviews, but I felt it was worth letting other fans know about VEIโs DVD release of the Showtime/SciFi Series, โPoltergeist the Legacyโ from the late 1990s. The quality of the video on the discs is excellent and the sound is very clear and sharp. I have watched six episodes from seasons three and four and the show looks better than it did during its original broadcast run - and 100% better than the quality currently found on Comet TV, the showโs current home. Fans should be very happy that the entire show has finally been released after a wait of over seventeen years (the show ended in November of 1999), particularly as some of the best episodes were from the third season. For those new to show who take a chance on it, watch the premiere episode from season one and then skip directly to these three episodes from the third season - โDarkness Falls,โ โLight of Day,โ and โArmies of the Nightโ โ as these will give you an overview on how well produced the show was despite its limited budget. Other notable episodes include โGhost in the Road,โ The Tenement,โ โThe Signalman,โ and โThe Devilโs Lighthouseโ โ just to name a few. One great thing about the show was the cast and crew knew it was ending after the fourth season which allowed them the chance to bring the show to a proper conclusion. Underrated at the time of its original broadcast, โPoltergeist the Legacyโ is a show which deftly mixed horror with a touch of science fiction and fantasy. The core cast โ Derek de Lint, Helen Shaver, Robbi Chong, and Martin Cummins โ all brought their talents to the table and made for a realistic group of paranormal investigators called โThe Legacy.โ Kudos for VEI for getting the rights to release the show. Watch this company as they are slowly but surely releasing some very rare television shows from the 1980s and 1990s โ many of which fans thought would never be issued on DVD. UPDATE 7/17 - Many of the SEASON ONE episodes are in the wrong order of broadcast although all of them are included. This happens with season two with "The Devil's Lighthouse" coming before "Repentance" - but it looks like other than those two episodes being reversed - the rest of this season - as well as all of season three and four are in the correct broadcast order. Note: The packaging is not a problem at all. Although the discs are packed tightly according to each season, they are not that difficult to take out of the case. However, use caution as you do not want to scratch the discs! Review: The complete series. - Good quality, shipped fast.

Beautiful Pictures
I have bought this show from multiple companies. None of them compared to the quality of this set. Finally, I am able to enjoy this show. The quality is superb!!!! The First season is not in order, but all the episodes are there. I could not be happier. If you are a fan of this show, then this is the set you need!!!

Poltergeist the legacy, the complete series, worth the money.
Poltergeists the legacy, the complete series, is worth the money. There is a nice cardboard slipcase with artwork and product description over a very solid DVD case, which also has artwork. All four seasons are here, on 16 DVDs. There is artwork on each DVD and the episode listing for that DVD. The DVDs sit securely in a deep crevice. Each DVD is in a vinyl slipcase with finger slot for easy extraction of the DVD. These vinyl inserts are attached by a soft spine, this enables you to flip through the seasons as easy as the pages of a book. I only watched a few so far and I can say the picture and sound quality is very very good, so is the audio. There is no close captioning or extras. Seasons three and four are in their proper order. Season two, disc two the second third episode our reversed. Season one, several episodes are out of order. So far this is not a problem each episode is self-contained and the viewing order doesn't seem to affect the viewing. The stories are actually a little on the scary side with unexpected high quality special-effects. For the price Amazon is offering this set, is well worth the money. I give it four stars, only because the first season episodes are jumbled.

Exceeds all expectations!
This set exceeds all expectations! The transfer quality of picture and sound are excellent. In 2010 I bought Seasons 1&2 as an Amazon exclusive special. That set was expensive and the quality was mediocre at best but it was all that was available at the time. When I saw this set, the price was reasonable so I ordered it because I wanted the complete series and the missing 3rd & 4th seasons. My previous set is in the garbage where it belongs.

Iโm surprised to find I did watch half the episodes back on cable, glad I could revisit the Legacy and catch all of what I missed in the way of episodes and story continuity.

Fav show from the 90s/00s - missing subtitles and wrong order
Back in 1996 show this show found its way into television. In the wake of X-Files, shows like The Legacy, Outer Limits, Psi Factor and so on popped up. PTL was more on the horror side and for some reason I enjoyed watching this show every week again and again. I admit it has its flaws, which I noticed back then and even notice it more 25 years later. It's basically the demon/monster/witch/wicked priest of the week or similar, and the background story (a red string going through the seasons) for the characters would be way better these days. The stories are not always that deep, but solid. Some moments are close to melodrama and aside I believe every actor is classy and well-chosen it seems slight overacting was some sort of standard, but I don't mind. This show is around 25 years old, and I remember being disappointed when it ended only after 4 seasons. The DVDs work on my BluRay (I live in Europe) and the quality is okay. It seems they just copied the show into the digital format, without putting that much effort into it. There are NO subtitles, what I consider basic standard. I also come to believe, that (when considering Wikipedia) the episodes are in the wrong order? I can't say for sure, it probably doesn't matter because as said, there are not much red strings spinning through the seasons. If you have enjoyed this show back then or simply a fan of solid horror, something you can watch without having to put too much brain into it, and ignore the missing logic here and there, this is for you. Personally, I just love revisiting those old shows from my youth. I also want to point out the neat clothing of the late 90s the cast wears. Watching the first few episodes of S1, I really wonder who the hell was in charge of Derek de Lints (Derek Rayne) wardrobe because those sweaters and vest must have been knitted from some sort of Grandma from hell. Geez! Even for the 90s/2000s those are gruesome. Glad he discovered the comfort of a Leather jacket and simply shirts later in the show. Recommend the show, and wish there would be a reboot or similar. Good set of DVDs, but no subtitles and missing any sort of extras, softens the excitement for the DVDs, but well ... it's better than nothing.

Great series worth the watch
I read the reviews so I knew what to expect as far a packaging went. But I must say that the series is wonderful the sound and picture is clear even on a big screen. So thank you I am enjoying it very much not if the episodes are out of order or not but either way itโs a good watch

It's a pity this hasn't been available in full in the UK or Europe, this is a great show.
It's a pity this hasn't been available in full in the UK or Europe, this is a great show. It's atmospheric at times goes full horror, I watched season 1 but missed the rest of the series when broadcast, so I'm really happy to get hold of this.

Love
A couple episodes of the first season are out of order but the clarity more than makes up for it. Amazing series so happy to be able to research
