This comes with a regular battery.  Quip also offer a auto 3 month shipment that includes a new brush head with battery.  There is a coupon code provided in the package.  I personally use this product and recommend it.

All of the answers below are incorrect. The black toothbrush has Bluetooth capabilities & an App that can be downloaded to your cellphone to help you brush properly & for the correct time. When brushing your teeth the brush senses where you are brushing at & if you’ve either skipped an area or not brushed an area long enough it will notify you via the App. The App also indicates where you are brushing on the screen. There is also rewards tied to the App for brushing your teeth etc that you can receive products etc for free. This is a wonderful toothbrush & I've had impressive results. There’s also a coupon code in the box that will allow you to receive the first replacement brush head & battery for free. Then they’ll ship a replacement automatically every 3 months. The price is $5.00. They sell the replacements at Target 🎯 as well, but they sell for $9.99. So it’s a great price point & you don’t have to worry about forgetting to order one or pick it up at the store plus the costs savings is great.

Can you replace the toothbrush head on Quip? My son loves the tooth brush, but I’d like to replace it?

Go online to Quip and order the replacement heads there. I pay $10 every 3 months and they send a battery, replacement head, snd toothpaste. Easy to do.

Is this an ultrasonic toothbrush or just an electric toothbrush?

I would not say this is ultrasonic. It is a manual toothbrush with a vibrating motor to help you make sure you are brushing for the recommended 2 minutes. When you turn it on, the brush will vibrate for 2 minutes with a pause every 30 soconds. You should be brush a different quadrant every 30
After 2 minutes, it will turn off. The vibrations don't travel to the brush head very well. If you stick the brush head in standing water the water movement is imperceptible. It's better than a manual brush, but you need to brush like you would with a manual brush, DO NOT glide it across your teeth like an electric toothbrush or your teeth will not be properly cleaned.
