I ordered this set but it came as a much cheaper set in a weak, brittle case. Is this what is being sent now, or was this just a shipping mistake?

Mine came in a clear plastic case with a black plastic divider section. Not the greatest however I needed the bits to work, not the case.

I want to drill 8 to 10 holes through large, stainless steel hinges (3mm thick).Could I do the job with these drills?

Probably but you will need the right cutting fluid . I did not use this bits on SS yet. Thank you GOOGLE: "What can you use to cut stainless steel fluid? As a manufacturer of metal processing oil, we recommend MORESCO BS-6M soluble cutting fluid, MORESCO BS-9 soluble cutting oil. WILL CM-128 semi-synthetic cutting oil, WILL CH-370 semi-synthetic cutting fluid. These cutting oils are especially good on stainless steel, and provide excellent performances during machining."

Unfortunately I could not find a country of manufacture this company. They are inexpensive bits, and I've had good luck with them.

Nice set of metric drills

This set is a great value for your money . The storage case is very functional and markings are easy to read. The 5% cobalt content makes them very durable and are very sharp. I have drill metals and plastics so great drill ability. Great buy if you are into 3D2A projects.

Realy good quality drill bits

I made my mounting rack for my solar panels out of used steal pipe, and I had to drill quite a few holes for mounting these panels. The piping was quite hard and I bought five drill bits, so as to make sure I wouldn't run out. To my surprise the drill bits held up really well and I was able to drill all the holes with just one bit. I did pre-drill the holes with a center drill, but that was all I used, and of course some lubricant. I never thought that I could drill these many holes without wearing out the drill bit. Quite amazing.

Works great

A hardened piece of steel that broke several conventional bits did not stop these drills. Amazing difference from normal drill bits. Use caution; they will snap if driven too hard / fast. Use lubricant and go slow...they work very well.
