Work great / love having all my cookies same size without weighing - perhaps not as exact as a scale, but much more efficient - time is money

I'll preface this with I blame myself for the failure. The scoop works perfectly for room temp cookie dough, and seems to be built better than the competition. Unfortunately, I pushed it too hard in some refrigerated dough (I'm a large man). The pinion gear broke loose from the shaft. I do believe the gear retention should be better, but it's right on par with what seems to be the industry standard. I will attempt to weld the gear to the shaft, but if that doesn't work, I'll probably still buy the same scoop again.

I rarely write reviews, but I so utterly disappointed with this gorilla cookie scoop that I left it on the counter for a few days before I threw it away today while trying to decide if I should bother leaving a review. At 1st I thought I could just put it back together not realizing that it just completely fell apart after the 2nd time I used it. Other than that, it scooped & released perfectly…

I tried the Gorilla Grip version of these scoops after several failures of the other popular brand in different sizes. These seem to be made better — the soft grip handles are connected better so are less likely to detach, the ‘pins’ at both ends are longer so should not fail like the others, and the ‘gears’ seem more stable (have yet to shift out of place.

I love this cookie scoop. I use it all the time. It is great quality The silicone on the handle makes it easy to hold when you are baking. It is super easy to clean. I just pop it in the top rack of my dishwasher. I loved how it has the red accents. It goes perfectly with my kitchen. I would buy this over and over to use in my kitchen. It is great gift for any baker in your life.
