Why was my ordered bumped allllll the way to august 29th? its july 12th. it was suppose to come this week. what was the point of pre-ordering?

What is the point of pre ordering if they will not fulfill our order.  My order was back in June and the shipping keeps getting delayed.  How is this acceptable behavior?

Does wotc honestly feel that 4 packs for the same price as 12 packs in previous sets is going to be smart for sales? assume bad chase cards.

Compared to a regular set, the Masters sets are always at a much higher premium, with multiple great chase cards and less chaff than normal. This reprint set in particular has many staples for the Commander, and some for the Modern/Legacy format. Even though not everything has been spoiled at the time of this comment, multiple $100+ cards will be reprinted in this set (so I can't "assume bad chase cards" anymore, sorry).

Assuming this is the price for 4 packs in a bundle ($228 constant at presale), a full 12-pack box would be about $648 which is insane and likely out of most people's price point (this is the same as a case of draft boxes for a normal set). The marketing here is to include less packs to make it look cheaper. For now, the Collector box (4 collector packs @ $228) is cheaper than the actual Draft box (24 draft packs @ $255-$350), which may make it attractive to people who don't realize the sheer number of less cards you get with this product, albeit these cards will have more jazz and you can only get certain styles here. Those're the tactics I think is going on here.

If you don't like to buy boxes of cards (it IS gambling, after all), this reprint set is still good, because more cards in the market make them cheaper, and people wanting to bling their preexisting decks with new shiny versions of cards will also cheapen the base card's price. Whales and game stores will crack open these boxes to find those rare premium textured foils, so expect prices of most everything else you can find in these collector boosters to drop the month after release. If you just want a few cards from the set, buying singles is definitely the most price-efficient method.

Is amazon really trying to sell me ONE pack of 15 cards for almost $80?

@MisterRight. You're 100% correct. Burning-Tree's shills can't run cover for such a widespread and obvious tactic. I pre-ordered a collectors box from a different company and it was supposed to be here the 11th. Then it was the 14th. Now it's the 19th. I am fully expecting to not receive cards at all. Or if I do, it'll be some kind of damage or tampering with the box. These scum are all the same. I'll never order online again and will always go through a LGS.
