The best razor money can buy!
I have been a loyal Harry’s consumer and enthusiast for many years since I first shaved with one of their original blades, and fell in love! I was blown away by the blade quality. Best I have ever used! Better than Gillette Fusion! I don’t know how they do it, but nobody makes a better blade than Harry’s does! I also tried all of the offerings from Dollar Shave Club, which came out about the same time that Harry’s did, and after months of comparison between all the different blades DSC offers, and the Harry’s blades, I declared Harry’s to be the superior blades. I actually liked all of the DSC products, and give them a lot of credit them for making a better blade than just about every one of the name brand razors out there… just not quite as good as Harry’s! About the only thing the Dollar Shave Club did better than Harry’s is design handles that hold the blades firmly, so they don’t fly off when you’re trying to clean them out. The 2 blade design that Dollar Shave Club sells is much easier to clean stubble out of than Harry’s, but I wouldn’t recommend using it for dry shaving. When wet shaving, the stubble comes right out with a quick rinse under the faucet, and for a two blade razor it actually does a pretty decent job. Not as good as Harry’s of course, but far better than any Bic or Schick product I have ever tried. The 4 blade design that Dollar Shave Club sells suffers from the same problem that the Harry’s blades do, of being a little bit of a pain to keep the stubble from clogging up the blades, but at least the blades don’t fly off while you’re trying to clean them out! It actually gives you a pretty good shave, better than the 2 blade, but not quite as good as Harry’s. And, since it is priced so similarly to the Harry’s blade, the superior shave provided by Harry’s razor makes it the obvious choice over the 4 blade DSC. The DSC six blade model is priced even higher than the Harry’s blade, but the blades are even closer together. Too close in my opinion. Stubble gets clogged too easily, and is even harder to clean out (except for the fact that the blade doesn’t fly off the handle when you’re doing so). But, even with that extra 6th blade, the 5 blade Harry’s razor still seems to shave just a little bit better than their six blade design does. It’s pretty darn close, but considering that DSC more for their 6 blade model than what Harry’s charges their blades, once again the choice is obvious. Ultimately, all of these things considered, led me to cancel my dollar shave club subscription, in favor of Harry’s, who I’ve had a subscription with ever since. (I just couldn’t think of any occasion where an inferior shave would ever be desirable, regardless of how much they’re charging for their blades, or how well their blades stay on the handle) Harry’s Original Blades: Pros Harry’s blades cut so smooth, that for the first time in my life, I have finally found a razor that I can dry shave with quite comfortably, that gives me a baby smooth shave, with no irritation or razor burn! (they shave even closer with shaving cream, or in the shower, but they do such a good job when dry shaving, I never bother to wet shave anymore. ) Harry’s claims you’re not supposed to shave your head with their razors, but after I trim the hair on my head as close as I can with the clippers, I find that there is nothing that gives me a closer smoother shave on my head than a Harry’s razor! I have dark hair and am balding, and don’t care for the “male pattern baldness” shadow that gets left behind when I shave my head with clippers. Shaving my head with the Harry’s razor after using the clippers gives me such a close shave, it eliminates that “shadow” completely, and you can’t even see where my hairline is after that. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the “Mr. Clean” bald head look that results in, but it sure beats the “male pattern baldness” look that I’ll have, if I don’t shave it that close. (It does cut CLOSE though, so make sure you don’t have any pimples on your head, before you shave it, or you are definitely going to need a styptic pencil and a good supply of band aids!) Cons My biggest complaint about the Harry’s razor, is that the blades clog too easily, and are somewhat difficult to clean out. (much less so with dry shaving than wet shaving, but even when I’m dry shaving, it can be a bit of a pain). Once the blades become clogged, shaving becomes much less effective, until you clean them out. When dry shaving, I don’t like to rinse them under the water, except as a last resort, because the gel strip tends to activate and leave slime on my face, and once wet and slimy, stubble accumulates more quickly, and becomes even harder to remove from the blades. Tapping the blades on the edge of the sink helps remove some of the stubble, depending on how hard you tap, but quite often the blade flies off the end of the handle when I do this, and clatters into the sink, or onto the floor. The harder you tap, the more likely it will fly off, and the further it will fly after it does. Some handles hold the blades better than others. The Winston is my favorite, but it still flies off of that one too on occasion, even when I’m careful. Once the blades get too clogged to tap the stubble out, I employ a shaving brush to clear it out further, then I wipe the blades against a towel, which gets most of the stubble out. Eventually, though it will still get clogged, and you’ll have to rinse the blades out if you want to keep shaving with it. Tapping is the best way to get the water and stubble out after you rinse the blades, but of course, then the blade tends to fly off again. After I tap the water and stubble out as best I can, then chase down the blade after it flies off again, and reattach it, wiping the blade off thoroughly with a towel helps remove residual water, stubble, and “slime” from the blades, and allows you to get a clean close shave again… until it clogs again. As for the single blade on the top of the razor, facing backwards, the few times I’ve tried using this, to trim my side burns or shave the stubble just under my nose, that the regular blades on the front tend to miss, I have given myself a very nasty cut! My advice is don’t use that blade! I have a very thick beard, so I only use a blade once before disposing of it. If I try to use it a second time even if I clean it off, it just doesn’t give me as close of a shave. So, I like to start my day with a fresh blade. I have noted the blades last longer when you wet shave, but I’ve gotten so fond of just being able to quickly dry shave in the morning and be done with it in 90 seconds or less, and not have to go through the whole production of using shaving cream/gel, rinsing off, toweling off, and/or shaving in the shower (which does give me an even closer shave, but is such a hassle (compared to dry shaving) trying to keep the fog and droplets off the shaving mirror so I can see what I’m doing. Admittedly it is easier to clean the blades using a showerhead than it is trying to rinse it under the faucet. But despite these minor “cons”, there simply is no better blade than Harry’s, whether you’re dry, shaving, wet shaving, or shower shaving, Harry’s will give you the best shave every time. BTW, harry’s skin and body products are all amazing too! The gold standard! Just like their razors! I especially like their “Stone” scented body wash and soap.

Great for women, too!
Excellent! I prefer using men's razors - they seem to have a smaller head and offer more control (not to mention they are often less expensive due to the "pink tax". The blades are super sharp so be careful! The price is reasonable and the handle is comfortable.

Closer Shave Than Women’s Razors Great Value
I’m a woman, but I never buy women’s razors they’re overpriced and never work as well. I’ve been using Dollar Shave Club for a long time, but when I went to reorder blades, I saw this Harry’s kit and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. You can genuinely feel how close the shave is. The handle is lightweight but still feels really sturdy, and the blades are super sharp without being scary. I haven’t cut myself once. It glides really smoothly and leaves my skin feeling clean and irritation-free. It’s around the same price point as Dollar Shave Club, but I honestly prefer this razor. Definitely feel like I got my money’s worth and will be sticking with this one.
