Katherine Johnson: Ready-to-Read Level 3 (You Should Meet)

If you see the video attached to my review, you'll get a sense for the text + pictures in this book. It's a really nice book for kids. I read it to my year old and we even did the quiz at the end. He loved the book. However, I don't see him reading it on his own. He's a good reader in general but some of the language is a bit complicated for his age.

This is a wonderful story! It gives a good general overview of Katherine Johnson and is an inspiring read for grade school students.

I came across Mrs. Katherine Johnson's book. After purchasing it for my Kindle, I read it straight through. It's a very short children's book. It was an inspiring read for girls and boys. I hope it will become required reading for early Elementary. Parents can be reminded the importance of encouraging their children to be all they can, develop their strengths and keep a zest for learning.

My son enjoyed it. Would be an excellent addition to Black History Month. Nice to see modern famous people in addition to the classics. Very well written. Good illustrations. Book was very good quality, especially for the price. So pleased with this purchase.

Wonderful story!! I bought three for Christmas gifts ages 3,4,8. This is a book that parents can read to their child.

My girls just love, love, love, love this book! After my 7yr old read for the first time she decided that she wanted to grow up to be an engineer! It brought joy to my ears, to hear her say that! I love the fact that my girls are able to see someone that looks like them, that was very successful! Someone that did a great deal and someone who inspired a lot of people! I highly recommend this book for all little girls and boys!

A biography that is just right for early readers. Level 3 is appropriately designated. Doesn't get involved in complicated math yet it is understood that Mrs. Johnson's incredible mathematical abilities took her (and the astronauts) to soaring heights. Having to overcome race and gender inequality was handled well. Ordered this for an elementary school library to add to our biography collection and was not disappointed.

I buy books like this in the hopes that it helps my daughters learn to not fear math and science. It is a bit too advanced for my 4-year-olds, but will be great for them in another 2 years or so.

My 5 year old granddaughter loves this book. A great purchase.

My son read this book in one sitting. I have also bought the one on Viola Desmond, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela and other notable world-changers. Excellent reading for any age. Never too young or too old to learn. Knowledge is dynamic!
