Works great, waters the drip zone and doesn't soak the trunk. I use this for my baby trees to make sure they get plenty of water in my semi-arid climate.

We bought the smallest ring to water two, young trees, and it works very well. Even with our spigot turned down low, the ring puts out plenty of water, more than we'd thought it would in fact. So, if you're concerned about your trees getting too much moisture, you might want to use a timer and calibrated bucket to measure the ring's flow rate, then adjust its valve accordingly before watering.

Works very well, but could be more substantial in materials and weight to stay in place. Would buy again, just hopeful the mfr will continue to improve. Great concept!!

I am not a gardener by any stretch of the imagination but decided anyway to plant a new tree last year. I absolutely love dogwood and their beautiful blooms but because of the conditions in which they prefer (partial sun being the biggest obstacle in my back yard) I had to plant it in an area that my irrigation system just doesn't quite cover. My husband suggested we needed to have the system extended, add more sprinkler heads, but I just thought that would be such a huge expense. I decided that, for now, I'd look for a sprinkler or something that we could use to see if it would help. There is no shortage of sprinklers on Amazon and I'm pretty sure I looked at all of them. I finally narrowed my search to "sprinkler for trees" and found a few different options. I ended up choosing the tree hugger because it looked easy to use and watered all the way around at once without having to be adjusted or moved. Simple. You can also control the water flow which was a selling point for me because that means I can also use it around my rose bushes as well, which are much lower and don't need a full height spray. I'm also surprised by how sturdy it is while still being light weight. So far, I'm really happy with my purchase and have high hopes that it's going to help my young tree grow.
