My compressor is back!! This replacement part took about 2 minutes to install and instantly brought my compressor back to life. Works perfectly.

Worked ok. Had more electrical connections then the one I was replacing so had to figure out which ones to use.

I bought an old Atlas 7B metal shaper and it has a Walker Turner 1/2hp motor on it. The motor sounded good, but struggled to start. I figured the start capacitor was bad, but when I removed the old school capacitor cover, I found a capacitor dated 6-46! I tested the capacitance and as expected, it wasn't doing much. I started looking for a replacement and it was easy to find the capacitance, but the physical size was hard to match up. There were a couple out there, but they were not easily sourced. I decided to buy something I could get quickly, and I'd design a couple end-cap spacers in Shapr3D and 3D print those spacers to match the size of the new capacitor to the original. I also had to replace the bleed capacitor, and I sourced a 10k ohm, 5 watt resistor on Amazon which I soldered onto this capacitor. After installing the spacers and connecting it to the motor, it was immediately clear the new capacitor brought that old motor back to operating like new. It spins up immediately, loaded or unloaded. I know these capacitors won't last nearly as long, but they're cheap, work, and are easily sourced. I'm happy, and my shaper is happy.

Was ready to call the pool guys since the pump just hummed and did not start. I realized what the problem was just didnt thnk I had the time to do it, however once I got into it, was only 15 minutes and saved at least $250.00 Quality is excellent and fit was perfect. Just be sure to ground the old one before touching the terminals to avoid a eye watering shock.
