With the current shortage of Raspberry Pis, I decided to try a robot kit based on the ESP32 board. I have bought robot kits from Freenove before and have found them to be of good quality, backed up by outstanding customer support. This has proved to be the case again, I had a problem with the app , sent an email, and was provided with a link to an updated version of the app the following day. Assembly of the kit has a few fiddly steps particularly if you have large fingers. I also found it necessary to study the photos as well as the written instructions, but the end result was a fully functioning robot dog! This is immediately fully controllable from the phone app (the updated version I was sent is now the version in the google play store) If you simply want to build a robot and then control it, I would definitely recommend this kit as, compared with some others, it saves on the cost and difficulty of sourcing a raspberry pi separately. The only extra required is some batteries. These can be found at vape stores or online at sites such as 18650.uk The kit requires 2 X 18650 flat top batteries with continuous discharge current greater than or equal to 10A. Search for 3.7v high drain. You will also need a charger. If, like me, you also want to delve into the code, this is all open source and available on github. I have not yet had time to look at this. All in all a fun kit with plenty of functionality out of the box and the option to tinker further.

マニュアルとユーチューブを見ながら組み立てし楽しく組み立てさせて頂きました、プログラムはこれからです。 異常、カメラが不調です。 ・画面が乱れ半分がほぼ表示されない ・カメラモジュールをCPU本体に接続すると正常に表示されるのでカメラは正常です ・上記より 「Extension bord for Camera」か「cable」に接触不良等の異常があると推測 ・無水アルコールにて端子の清掃をしても解決されなかった 組み立ててるので返品できないし交換部品がほしいけどどうでしょうか？ ※部品を送ってくれるそうです、到着後星を変更予定 カメラが異常なので星は3個にした→変更星５ その後カメラモジュールとケーブルを送っていただき動作テスト、CPU異常で交換を送っていただき動作テスト完了です。

I have been buying STEM projects all year for my kids and extended nieces and nephews. This project by far has been the best! While all the other projects the kids made themselves, this project required me to be involved, which is great! Because I love working with them, but most importantly the kids are dedicated to being a part of every build session and mistake uncle Ron made! The code available is what impressed me so much. The ESP32 wifi capabilities are perfect for a parent wanting to share STEM learning with their kin as the coding, features can and do get uplaoded OTA (over the air) after initial setup. Which is by and away super easy with the Bluetooth that is a features of the board. I am not an engineer either. I am a carpenter who works with his hands. If you want code it’s there, if you want to add features you can do it, ESP32 has a large amount of projects online. And few people realize the it is almost the exact same as Arduino. Best purchase of the year! I will be holding a vote after the kids have had their way with puppy, that’s our name for it. I am in no doubt this Freenove will be the next project in our journey to teach the kids the most important skills of our day. Thank you Freenove, you have made me the favourite uncle I always dreamt of being.

The kit is incredibly nicely packaged. I went to the freenove web site for tutorials and instructions. I found the web page so incredibly well organised and helpful. It's great to see companies take such effort to support their kits.

It's a fun project to build and play with. I didn't expect to build from scratch. The tutorial was easy to follow. As I progressed, I ran into some technical difficulties but through e-mails I got great support. Someone mentioned finding batteries, I had to problem finding batteries on Amazon. If nothing else, I give this a high score because of the support given
