The zip works just the same as a zip on clothes, therefore you KNOW it is sealed properly. You can easily squeeze out all the excess air in the bag too, by almost closing the zip, squeezing out the air, then zipping all the way. Genius design. All manufacturers need to change their systems to the zip!
